Chris Knight's pre-season was very good. Showed plenty of improvement and was a vital player in a close to successful winning side, gaining control throughout the NAB Cup Grand Final but a last quarter fightback by Geelong secured them the piece of silverwear.

Mid-season 2006

A great start to the season, then to a rough patch, but worked back hard. With Hentschel out, Knights was moved out of the midfield/half-forward flank to the forward pocket, where he provided an inaccurate 2.4 for the Crows.

Chris Knights played every game for the season, averaging just over 20 disposals a game, playing mostly through the midfield. Struggled in front of goals accuracy wise, but had a very good season none the less. He has shown steady improvement and this year saw him prove he was going to be a top midfielder in years to come.

Awards 2006

Chris Knights has had a very good season, but has amazingly capped it off winning the AFL Rising Star award in great fashion.

Knights polled 6 votes in the 2006 Brownlow Medal. He only polled in two games, with best on ground efforts in rounds 19 and 20.

CHRIS KNIGHTS
Knights had an accomplished year in 2006, being one of very few shining lights in the Adelaide Crows 2006 season. An impressive pre-season saw him as a future player and attractive style of footy he bought to the ground, he was a favourite. Played 2 games in his debut year, but last season he didn't miss one game, playing all 22. Won the AFL Rising Star, the first Crow to be crowned in the award. Bulked up and shown plenty during the pre-season he is expected to have another good year. Will once again play in the midfield. Finished second in the club best and fairest also.
Draft history: 2004 National Draft 4th round selection (Adelaide) No. 56 overall

Played at half-forward to allow space for other young players to experience what it's like in the guts. He had some good form, however, he is more suited in a midfield role looking at that.

Knights suffered a groin injury in the final round, which will see him out for the next 2 weeks.

A magnificent first half of the season by Chris Knights. The rising star averaged over 26 disposals, and kicked 6 goals in his 8 games. Missed the first 3 games with a groin strain, and was a late withdraw from the round 11 clash with a calf injury, but returned a week later with 31 touches. His best game was against West Coast, having 36 disposals and kicking 2 goals.

you might be close to winning a cigar there as he is a bit of a chance to win the Rising Star this year and shouldnt the award in the game be called Rising Tar?
thats a terrible 'joke' i know

Haha, that is good. Suprised it isn't actually, never thought of that, great stuff.

A brilliant end to the season for Chris Knights. He has had an outstanding year, missing 4 games through injury. A favourite going into the Brownlow Medal, and he will see finals for the first time, with the Crows earning a home final, finishing second. Knights averaged 25.7 disposals in the home and away season.

Awards 2007

A Brownlow favourite, it was to suprise many as Chris Knights had only 3 votes after round 16, but 3 best on grounds in round 17, 21 and 22 pulled him to 12 votes. Teammate Scott Thompson ran away with the medal after having a great season, and to some peoples opinion, took votes away from Knights.

Knights was also unlucky not to recieve a All-Australian selection, where only one player managed to pull it off, John Meeson in his debut season, in the ruck.

A very good finals campaign, as the Crows made it to the last Saturday in September, falling short by 5 goals to the Saints. Knights played 22 games for the season, averaging close to 26 disposals for the year in an amazing performance. He won the clubs best and fairest award.

CHRIS KNIGHTS
Stunning last year, he was dominate in the midfield after spending the first 3 weeks on the sidelines. Won the Rising Star award two years back and is making his mark on becoming a champion of the Crows. Played 46 games now, including a successful finals series, including the Grand Final. He averaged over 25 disposals last year, having 30 or more touches 4 times during the season. Won the clubs best and fairest award ahead of Brownlow medallist Scott Thompson after being runner-up the year earlier.

Another good season, but not as good as he could have been, yet, he still had 500 touches in 22 matches, only averaging 22 touches a match. He did however spend some time down in the forward pocket when Fergus Watts was missing late in the season, and was successful on the first chance. Kicked 24 goals in the season, and still finals to come.

Awards

Another successful season for the Crows, making the finals, and more importantly top 4 for the second chance.

Chris Knights was runner-up in the best and fairest to leading full-forward Fergus Watts who was successful kicking 70 plus in the home and away season for yet another occasion. Knights polled the most votes (9) for the Crows.

Chris Knights won the Norm Smith Medal for best on ground in the Adelaide Crows fourth premiership.
