I am not even convinced we will win a final, let alone make a grand final, let alone win a Premiership.

Would like to start with a four quarter performance.
We will find our best form prior to the finals. Timing our run perfectly. This team is Bound for Glory.

It's an even comp and like all sports luck plays a big role on the day. If you're looking for certainty that we'll win finals in Round 21, you'll be looking forever.

That works for me.

What about his 9 coaches' votes in Rd 18 and 3 in Rd 19? How does that read?

Comparing Tay's position with three blokes who played minimal games in 2010 is a bit dim.
Those players i mentioned were all very solid players for the club and most would have assumed they would have been there when the whips were cracking but their time came and they were replaced by younger players
I’ll say it again .. turnovers clangers and poor disposal efficiency and decision making will kill us when it counts .
If Adams puts in more performances like he did against Carlton then he needs to be looked at IMO

Other than them wearing the same jumper, there are no similarities. What a limited argument

The point is That established big name players aren’t guaranteed a game if they don’t perform and if Taylor adams plays a few more like last week then he should go out IMO
I think it’s a really clear pertinent point that past performances don’t guarantee a game in September

The end is very near for this bloke more than people realise.

hes legit borderline an in and out player next year.
That would probably depend on whether or not we bring in another midfielder. He's the sort of bloke you want around the club but his decision making and disposal at vital times is a worry

He thinks he can do it all trying to pinpoint passes with his disposal level is laughable.

Has to play within his ability.

At the moment, Melbourne would roll us in the first final. Melbourne have improved significantly since Kings birthday.

In the second match up if we played GWS, Carlton or Geelong then that is no certainty either.

I want to see a vast improvement prior to finals.
I thought so too but North led then by five goals on the weekend and they looked very ordinary. Petracca forward is dangerous and Petty was looking dangerous before his injury. When Fritch and Oliver return they will be the biggest obstacle to a flag but not insurmountable.

It is not as simple as the ins and outs. It is more the brand of football they are playing. I am not seeing our brand often enough in games. Unless our brand is to fall behind most weeks and expect to come back in the last quarter? I want to see us stamping our authority on more games.

Last week provided me with no confidence that Gawn, Viney and Brayshaw would not destroy our midfield again.

Still to see any evidence that we can curtail Steven May. Weitering had a field day last week.

I also don't see Howe as a significant inclusion.

But I hope i am wrong. I just want some evidence of us playing ruthless football - fast decisive ball movment, creating turnovers, repeat stoppages in forward line, winning centre clearance etc.
Gawn is the only issue with Melb - and 2 Rucks is the only solution I believe could reduce his impact. We won CC on KB, and lost total clearances by 4.
That's not a reason to fear their mids.
Petty's injury takes them back to square one in fielding a competitive fwd line.
Late last year we beat them by ensuring shallow fwd entries to the extent both Lever and May didn't take a mark I50.
They FEAR US ( given our winning record against them) - the relief and surprise on the faces of both Lever and May during post game interviews after KB, was a shock, making me think that we are living rent free in their heads.. May actually said words to the effect of "they were coming and we thought not again"

Weitering - despite his good day we had 18 I50 marks and kicked badly so his form was not the reason we lost.
If we take 18 I50 marks next time, Carlton are not beating us, unless Curnow kicks 6 from free kicks..

I don’t think he plays again this year even if we make the GF. Would we risk it given his soft tissue history? Probably not.

The only thing in his favor is that he has a full 14 days to recover if we made it but generally they require 3 weeks don’t they ??

Anyway, better it happened now than in the middle of a game.

Big loss for us and sad for him.

We can cover him with a full, fit & fresh list. It was always a tough team selection to leave someone out for Nick so the decision has been made for us.

I'm hoping Port win tonight in a last ditch balls to the wall epic effort with guys beaten up and exhausted. I can dream.
I’d agree if our next two games were H&A but it’s hard to replace/cover a Taylor Adams in September. He is built for finals footy.

Disappointing news - especially since we aren’t blessed with an abundance of quality contested bulls.
