He seems to be an overtrainer. Probably pushed his body to the limits, and at his age things will start to break down
Have you been to any training sessions over the last few years? Adams is definitely one of the more conservative types on the track. The farthest thing from an overtrainer

I would be concerned with Adams playing in a GF (assuming we get there).

I still have memories of him going off the ground last year (PF) with his groin issues.

Hamstring must be fully tested.

I trust Taylor to put his hand up if he has any doubts. He plays at 100 % intensity and I'm sure he knows he will be a liability if not 100 % right to go.

If you recall that video of Wade from before he came to work for us (I think he was presenting to Essendon from memory) he’s all about making players fail fitness tests in the lead-up rather than having them fail on game day when it counts.

I’d expect the mother of all fitness tests before Tay runs out there, if it happened at all.

Watching Alan Richardson train on the Thursday in 1990 was very tense. And we thought he looked like he made it through. Lethal had other ideas.

Sounds like I'd be his ideal player.

Mitchell was massive, I think he can do it again solo but if Adams is more than half fit i think he comes in for Lippa.

Looking over the jscyhread there's a bunch of negativity, anr it makes no sense.

Sure hes had injury worries but the guy is a gun and we're better when he plays.

Do we want a 50/50 Adams on GF day? Re-injuring himself will hurt bench rotations

I think he rules himself out later in the week

Presti set that gold selfless standard at the club 13 years ago
I don't think he has anything to do with it, it will be the medical staff who call it

Yeach surely he plays if he is right. Surely the fitness test finds him out? If he can't get to full pace he needs to withdraw himself. I trust he will do the right thing.

He would have been huge last night too, a heart and soul player best suited to scrappy contests.

In 1990 Alan Richardson was passed fit to play from a collarbone break, lethal had doubts and gave him his own fitness test, running through him and breaking his collarbone yet again.

Now I’m not saying we approach Taylor with the same brutality, but the concept has merit. His fitness test has to be thorough to the point that he may breakdown, if he passes that then great, if he doesn’t then it’s better to know now than take him into a granny NQR given his history with soft tissue injuries.

Agree, and I reckon Wadey will have that covered. I remember reading something about him putting a lot of work into designing rigorous fitness tests and that being a key skill for him.

Adams will have a gruelling week of SAS style training ahead me thinkey
