But im glad Lonie got a game... we need some long kicking players who can hit a target in the side

Fraser is the only in I am happy about atm and even then there is still a question mark on his fitness

Goldsack has looked injured, flat and all round poor for most of the year and gets a week off and is rushed back in??????? Why... I like the kid as a prospect but he hasn't done anything to demand being an automatic selection IMO nor has he earnt his way back in and FFS if he is coming in why not take Maxwell out.

Lonie....... Where to start other then why..... the guy has missed so much football, been average at best at VFL level and is the royal king of squibbing. More importantly others have been as good or better at VFL level, show more desire and intensity at the contest and yet are ignored and are younger and less injury prone too. Sense in playing Lonie 0.

Toovey, I am not a massive Toovey hater but there is no sense in playing Toovey in the same side as an out of form Goldsack and an out of form Maxwell. He may be in too add the hardness the team looses from playing Lonie. Again there are a host of other players who deserve a game way before Toovs. His awareness and footskills are terrible.

I am honestly mystified by the selections and for the life of me can't see what the pannel where thinking.

His young and developing and has to be driven to earn a game. There is no benifit in gifting players a game and carrying them. Bryan has been the better of the two this year. Unfortunately I would say Bryan has been our best ruck and thats a said statement to make

I don't have a problem with goldsack as he is a good second option for Buddy.

Toovey has no doubt been set a job to tag someone in hawthorns midfield, which is elite. Id say he'll run with Mitchell who destroyed us earlier in the year. Thats the only reason i can think of

More importantly to get a game, with decent game time and in his natural position. Not a token effort playing 45% of TOG and playing on a flank.

Not sure about that myself. MM seems to let players like Mitchell get away with too much too often. He always gets a massive amount of touches.

I agree Toovs will run with someone though but not sure.

I don't think we're tanking, but I do think we have little expectation of winning this match. Shielding the likes of Stanley, McCarthy and Dawes from a team that plays an unusual zone defence and who happened to crap on us to the tune of 65 points last time out... that's the only rationale I can see for these selections.

Let's hope it gets their trade value up while our percentage goes down. :rolleyes:

Don't mind it so much. Lonie to kick over the cluster, Toovs to tag someone. Dawes might not be ready just yet, so no need to rush him, and we have done well with a small forward line before. I dont mind these changes so much.

Who wants to get humiliated by Hawthorn under the glare of the Friday night lights however? :(

Hopefully our Geelong side rocks up... a win this week would be even more of a miracle than that game. :eek:
