The AFL has released the Total Player Payments for 2024, with the Total Player Payment limit set at $15.8m per club, up from $15.0m in 2023.
Gross player payments increased by 5.5 per cent to $296.3m, up from $280.9m in 2023.
Additional Service Agreement payments for the provision of marketing services by players remained relatively flat with a decrease of 0.23% from $22.8m in 2023 to $22.78m in 2024.
The average payment for a listed player was $459,173, up from $441,464 in 2023.
The average payment for players who played at least one senior match was $493,592, up from $476,215 in 2023.
There are now 10 players earning at least $1.2m, up from eight players in 2023 and 25 players who are earning at least $1m, up from 19 in 2023.
