With all the talk around a 20th licence following the introduction of Tasmania, and with WAFC this morning ruling themselves out of a third team in the state, Norwood looking very unlikely as well it's looking very promising that the NT is in the box seat to be granted the AFL's 20th licence from 2030 onwards...

I've had a bit of fun playing around with the potential identity of an NT team - To me Crocs is the obvious front runner. However, the Dingoes, Thunder and Magic would all be deadly options as well.

Here's my crack at designing an NT Crocs identity...

I'd love to see what others come up with also (either NT or any other strong options you feel might be a chance of being introduced)

Another concept I thought of could be something like the ‘Northern Wanderers’ or Northern something (Nomads/Rangers/etc?) - identifying itself as a club who plays predominantly in the NT i.e. primarily Darwin-based, a couple games in Alice but also has “home away from home” type games in places such as Townsville, Cairns and Broome, establishing themselves as a team representing Northern Aus as a whole.

This is almost identical to another concept I saw on BF recently (“Carpentaria Crocs” I believe, referring to the Gulf of Carpentaria) but it’s something I’ve been conceptualising too. Not sure if it would ever work feasibly and logistically but it’s a cool idea I thought.

Maybe ther Darwin Astros?

for it to work they are going to need a indoor air conditioned stadium like Houston.

My hatred for the WAFC knows no bounds, that entire organisation falling into a ravine would be too good for them
