Liverpool Vs Brighton @ Anfield Rd 5 FA Cup

Weekend of Feb. 18/19.

Can't complain. Looks like we're getting all our FA Cup games at home after getting our Carling Cup games away.

Most of the EPL clubs have been drawn against lower division sides for 5th round which probably means there'll be some huge match ups in the quarter finals.

A q/f against Arsenal, Spurs, Chelsea or the Bitters is a real possibility. Anfield would be rocking if its at home.

Not a foregone conclusion that's for certain. Should have enough to get past them though, especially at Anfield.

Would have been nice if some of the big teams had have drawn each other. QF round is going to have some cracking ties.

Why not do all three? Still a chance at top 4. Great chance to win the League Cup and progressing well in the FA Cup.

You guys wont finish in the top 4 because when teams sit back you cant find a way to break them down.

Everyone knows this in fact even most of your fans know this.

If the league was played between the top 8 clubs you would win it for sure because those teams attack you and leave space for you to exploit but when teams sit back at Anfield or when you throw in performances like at Bolton recently it's plain for everyone to see why you wont finish in the top 4.

Liverpool are clearly better against the top sides, but as for winning a top 8 league.

City - played 9, points 22, gd +18
United - played 9, points 15, gd +4
Liverpool - played 9, points 12, gd -3
Newcastle - played 8, points 9, gd -2
Stoke - played 8, points 9, gd -5
Chelsea - played 7, points 8, gd -1
Spurs - played 8, points 8, gd -4
Arsenal - played 8, points 7, gd -7

Oh well...

The FA have awarded yesterday’s FA Cup tie to Manchester United, accepting Patrice Evra's claim (after the referee had blown for full time) that his team had in fact scored at least ten goals and not just one....

Thought that was hilarious :D

Jod you're like a fish, you flip flop. You said last week you were happy to finish 6th or 7th.

Im not happy to finish 6th or 7th. 7th is a definite no go. Finishing behind Newcastle would be shit. I believe I said 6th is probably the realistic position we will finish in. Doesnt mean that top 4 is out of the question. We still get to play both Arsenal and Chelsea at Anfield and were not too far back to challenge at all.

We are very inconsistent in the league so it probably wont happen. But if we can somehow string some results together, we can certainly still finish top 4. Getting Suarez and Gerrard to play some games together will be nice.

Hey fellas, I'm just dropping a note to say I'm off. I need to get away from this poisonous board for a bit. I find it kills any passion I have for the game the longer I stay. All I want to do is enjoy the game. I'm sad I feel like I'm running from a fight, but the truth is, I'm just not interested in the carry on here any more. It's been fun, and I enjoy reading the views from everyone on here. But the negativity is overpowering.

I might see you on the entertainment board or the games board or on that other board. Go the Reds. YNWA.

Fwoy I reckon you're going to be like Jod, like a fish, you'll flip flop and check this forum out from time to time. We are all like fish us Liverpool fans, we flip flop. I loved that post. But it is true. We flip flop. It can be painful, Cruyff14, but I wouldn't trade it for anything in the world and I'm sure most others feel the same.

I reckon we'll all flip flop along with the King to a successful year, hopefully more flop than flip, like last season, where if I recall correctly we only played one bad game (lost 2-1 or something worse to West Ham) in the second half of the year. That was due largely to the injection of Luis Suarez which oddly enough will happen again... imagine if he comes back just a little bit closer to the team, smarter with his play ie. not drifting around yet still being the main striker in our mobile forward line. Plus we haven't seen him play effectively with Carroll yet who is starting to look the goods. I knew from the first half of the Bolton game something had happened with him, let us hope it is the start of a long and beautiful relationship between our club and the gigantic young Geordie.

Don't think a post on BigFooty has ever featured the words 'flip' and 'flop' so much :p

Transfer Deadline Day today. Kenny has maintained publicly that we will not be doing any business in relation to first-team players (could be some youngsters go out on loan etc.).

Important game tonight at Wolves. Typically the type of game we fail to win. Hopefully the players just pretend that they're playing Man City/Man U/Chelsea...

Not much firepower on the bench this morning, hopefully we aren't in need of a late goal.

Defoe is out for Spurs, is there a reason for that (ie. injury) or does that add more fuel to the fire that he's coming over?
