Solanke will not go on loan to Palace. Here is what Roy Hodgson had to say about it.

"It is a club decision, We were interested, I think he is a good player. It turns out there are complications, other factors involved in it, and the club decided in the end it was not the right moment for us to be doing it.

I do feel a little bit disappointed for the player, because I think at one stage he made up his mind in our favour. So it looked as if it was going to work out, but it didn't work out in the end. These are things you accept as a manager, because there are always elements that are beyond a coach's control."

Edit: BBC saying that Palace are worried about Solankes fitness. He's currently out with a groin strain.

City will attack us so there will be spaces a plenty hence why a creative midfielder is not as important as it would be against a team that sits back. I reckon their greatest strength is their midfield so we need a midfield where we can press them into coughing it up and also keeping possession. We just need to get it to our front 3 at every opportunity and let them do the damage. City’s defence is average as a number of teams have exposed them recently. I have no issue playing a midfield 3 from hendo, gini, millie or fab. We can always bring the shaq on if we need to. I think pep will go for the win as a draw means they have to make up 2.5 wins on us

Day off tomorrow so I'm pulling an all-nighter on the beers in preparation.

Probably won't remember any of the game when I wake up but I'll have fun watching it!

Gone with the “old faithful” in midfield.
Won’t knock it, I’ll back Klopp in.

Easily our biggest game since Chelsea14. Points/position wise you could almost argue it’s bigger.

This game is pretty big but our lead in the table makes is less so.

We can lose here and still win if both teams win out the season.

I would be happy with nil all. We don't need to win. Just go out there, don't do anything stupid, maybe create a few chances if we can.

Fabinho made some mistakes he was lucky to not get punished for last week. Think we've gone for our most reliable midfield here. Am sure we'll put some attacking midfield options on at some stage.
