The cases of Colin Manock - SA

The UI video was a difficult watch.

A few thoughts. Just like the QLD DNA disaster, people in power just want this rank incompetence swept under he carpet forever. Same people not releasing all the details of the Family murders.

Also, people wrongly convicted of murder being kept in jail because they wont reveal where the body is, even though they weren't involved, is a chilling thought.

in the UI episode they mention a Brian Martin,
whose name is familiar.
Anyone familiar with this name Brian Martin?

Crown Prosecutor in SA who was elevated to Supreme Court Judge? He prosecuted the Szach and Perry cases ... was he involved in the prosecution of Von Einem?

"Judge Brian Ross Martin AO QC, not to be confused with Brian Frank Martin"

there is two of them but this clarifies BRM is the one mentioned in the UI episode...

Bryan M Ross presided over the Snowtown trials, the Peter Falconio murder and Corryn Rayney. He gets around from state to state eh.

Snowtown as well,
there's more, maybe it was
frank wark / Dodd case, I recall in Perth before claremont ? anyways yes he does a lot in WA, SA, NT .
I'm wondering if he is also dodgy like Manock ?

I've just been listening to Banquet by Debi Marshal, which goes into great detail around the Family murders . Her interview with Manock in the book is utterly creepy. In the context of the book, Manock sounds more like a member of the Family than someone associated with taking them down. The glee in which he talks about his dominatrix wifes practices and his enjoyment of her work - including his sessions with her where she electrically stimulates him. He also says he's answered questions from his wife on BDSM surgical procedures like the temporary removal of testes from the scrotum. He also casually drops information seeming to demonstrate that he knows exactly where Alan Barnes was murdered (an Adelaide lawyers basement swimming pool area), something that Major Crime didn't apparently know. He's dismissive of any criticisms and behaves in an almost petulant manner when pressed on questions.

Just very odd.
