Bigeasy
I'm here for the buffet

Significant day today, I actually found a car park on Arden Street. I thought I would have had to park near Vic Market but I thought I'd give the old one pass over and just as I pulled up, a bloke was just leaving and in a big hurry. Great start to the day.
I was really surprised how the place has changed, the running water is a godsend and it's great that the players get to change inside now.
Caught up with Sonja and we had a good chat about life and the club for a good 90 minutes and then caught up with Knackers who was in right foul mood. Apparently, he can't get a coffee unless he walks up the road to the servo but what made it worse this morning was that someone stole his car park when he decided to drive to grab a coffee. It took him an hour to find a spot again, poor bugger. We spoke about the players while we were outside on the balcony as I watched some local people having a kick on the oval. Turns out those locals are part of the senior list. I asked Knackers if these players were from the injury list by virtue of their body shapes and poor skills. I was surprised that they weren't and then shocked when he pointed out the Captain and Vice-Captain.
Went for a walk through the place and I was impressed with the set up. Bumped into a couple of players through my travels. Tarryn is such a lovely kid, can't wait to train him and I met Jack Mahoney who at first, I thought was one of the volunteers who retrieve the footies at training. He introduced himself as a senior player and is a nice guy but at his age he might want to start to think about retirement I would have thought. We need to stick to our youth policy and transition out players in their mid to late 30's.
Caught up with the assistants after lunch to go over the training for pre-season. Good lads, keen to learn and very supportive which is understandable.
Set myself some homework for the first few weeks to get up to speed on the players. I will be reviewing one player each night until I have reviewed all players starting with jumper number 1, which happens to be that veteran player I met earlier.
Footnote:
Kennett is a prick.
