You can stay in his villa. Except it's not in Cadiz, it's in Croatia. Between €7,000 per week and €13,300 per week but it accommodates up to 20 people.

Wat did they do about the bullet holes Frank?

What I don't get is why they showed him getting t-boned on his way to the airport, only to show him meeting his contact in the next scene - obviously alive and well.

Someone getting t-boned in a TV show or movie is always an important plot point, usually as part of an ambush by the driver's enemies. It's just bizarre having it happen with no consequences whatsoever.

This is my theory that I have copied and pasted from elsewhere:

"We are clearly not going to get an explanation until season 2.

He probably got rammed by someone on behalf of Winthorpe (Dance) to take him out, but someone saved him. We weren't shown it.

That Zina character had warned him beforehand and is also on the outs so it probably has something to do with her in some way.

I suspect that the greenlight wasn't given to season 2 until late so that they changed the story from Bianca taking the Jackal out to her getting killed. I suspect that the wife leaving was a last minute change too. They then had Winthorpe (Dance) not paying him for his work, thereby setting up season 2.

So yep, an unexplained jump that I suspect will be explained next season."

Absolutely, that was my expectation - that it was an ambush by a hit squad, sent by Winthorpe (Dance). The surprise was not in the t-boning itself, but the fact that NOTHING came of it.

The problem is that it was unnecessary. He didn't need any additional motivation for going after Winthorpe - he had the motivation based on what we've already seen, there's no further motivation required based on what we didn't see. So why do it?

We heard Winthorpe talking about cleaning up loose ends. It was abundantly clear that those loose ends included Zina & Jackal. We saw here dodging the hit squad sent to kill her. It was always expected that another would be sent to kill the Jackal.

This is very possible. That last episode was very poorly written, with many implausibilities. It's likely that it was the result of hasty re-writes after the 2nd season was greenlit.

To me, this felt like the perfect ending. It would have allowed us to draw our own conclusions in what happened next, but it also would have meant that everything was for nothing—Bianca is dead, the Jackals are gone, River is over—and the powerful just keep surviving, unscathed. Maybe this is how it was always meant to be, but the final meet-up scene felt tacked on, like they realised they could milk this out for another season.

One of the great lines from the Jack Ryan series

"You're not a field agent Jack, you're an analyst" and that probably should have applied to Bianca.

If her analytical work is of such a grade you don't put that in jeopardy by sending her into dangerous areas.

Still the show can't develop without applying the creative license necessary.

Best show i've seen for years, series two opens up all sorts of possibilities. It's pretty clear he gets help, but that hasn't been revealed yet. I think MI6 know who he is, the British created him, trained him and deployed him, perhaps he does them the occasional favour? Great entertainment.

They almost make us sympathise with the jackal the then the have him kill an elderly couple.
they may have written / filmed two endings, as the one they shows felt like it didn’t quite fit .
He didn't want to kill the old couple, he was upset about it, but he doesn't like loose ends. Rasmus copped it also, but he was just using him. There is more to this character than we already know, how did he escape that traffic accident? The foreign secretary allows Bianca to try and catch him knowing she would have no chance against him, who was tailing him just before the crash happened? Somebody is helping him, but who? Series 2 will tell all i suppose. I might be completely off, however the door is open for numerous possibilities?

He created a huge loose end when he allowed the family of the owners of the truck he stole to survive. My understanding is that he saw a family similar to his and couldnt kill them.

That S1 of Jack Ryan was pretty damn good for a TV show.

He has some conscious, he let the bloke go from the farm also. He kills when it's absolutely necessary, poor old Rasmus was unlucky as were the old couple in the campervan, but he had no choice. This is a highly trained and skilled sniper killer created by the British Army who was impacted by the wrong doings of his own squad in Afghanistan. I wonder if the British Government and MI6 know who he is and that he's still alive? I still think someone is helping him in high places?
