presume still calling off tv, as they miss a lot or make odd errors.

Kelli Underwood is absolute junk, makes Dwayne seem ok

she said roughly today.... Sydneys biggest win against hawthorn was as south melbourne, before they became the swans, if they beat the sydney swans by x (she had the figure)today they could beat that

later she mentioned the game had an interesting stench

the interval as mentioned above, amongst other shit, wrong names, everyone who had a mac in their name etc etc

You won't be hearing Brenton Speed this season as he has left Fox Sports to join channel 9. He was one of the better AFL and NRL callers on Fox but thought the sun shone out of his arse at times when calling A-League games for them.
To call NRL on 9, or something else?

Seemed to be a weird focus on teams losing or gaining percentage this round. Of course percentage is going to fluctuate dramatically within the first two rounds and having a few extra goals kicked on you is going to hurt your season percentage. Basic maths.

I feel like we're being dudded as paying customers with this calling games off the screen crap. The vision I'm getting on my screen is exactly the same vision that they are using to commentate the games. I know who the players are on the ground, so these "commentators" aren't adding anything to the broadcast.

Frauds.

They have more screens than you and I see.

They say that they do, but why does it seem like their commentary is like they're just calling off the same shit we're seeing? It's so embarrassing. Is there any other major professional sporting league in the world that does this? There needs to be more attention brought to it.

I would be more forgiving of commentating from screens if they had a huge ultrawide emulating looking out the commentary box and seeing the whole ground.
Then the commentators can do stuff like 'oh, something happening off the ball', then look at the smaller monitors hoping for a close-up or rely on the boundary rider for details, like you would actually commentating at the ground.
Obviously I would prefer if they were actually at the ground, but I think that's the next best thing.

Amazing that an hour just talking about footy works so well
First crack.. Should be a two hour show, even if it is tucked away on a Tuesday night. Go thru each game, maybe some games only get 5 minutes, and analyse why x wins or y lost. Tactics, skills, formation etc

Would it contravene the broadcasting rules if you called a game after the game has finished I.e to the kayo replay feed, and then upload to a podcast ? Giving the listener the visual queue to watch game whilst listening to podcast ?

Like the watch along podcasts

I don't think it would unless you're actually showing video footage

This was brought to my attention from elsewhere. Have to agree with this Dylan person on this one, bloody pathetic.

Pathetic but expected.

Should really get commentary teams in Adelaide, Sydney and SE Queensland (Perth is most of the way there) if they're not going to fly people around anymore.

Absurdly, 7 Adelaide will have commentators at the ground that day but they'll be commentating the SANFL curtain raiser.

I actually cannot believe they don't have a deal in place with Virgin or whomever that gets them 2 or 3 seats on a plane (or 2 or 3 flights depending on the fixture) each week and in return they get 2 dozen seats at the GF or each game at the G or wherever to whatever they please with them, give them to staff or executives or whoever, it is amateur hour and nothing can justify why they do it.
Credit 7 for having boots on the ground for games outside of Melbourne.
