The maths is wrong but I do think they should try to finish earlier so they have access to the main cricket grounds but also have it finished before the IPL starts. Based on the FTP, there won't be any national team players available for the next couple of shield finals, but having it run into the IPL potentially takes an extra few players out, and it would be great to avoid that. *Truth be known, I'd prefer the AFL to start later, but until that happens, you make the best of the hand you're dealt.
