I'm not convinced he flat out isn't an AI tbh, his hiatus was probably to get upgraded to the DeepSeek model, which would explain the Chinese references to his disappearance.

Not sure what's happened recently but ai slop images should be ruled out imo, ones that certain posters have used over the last few seasons, ironic coming from someone who had a fully dedicated media ai thread not too long ago but it was at a time when the technology was relatively primitive, newer, oversaturated ai images get old fast.

Practical formatting uses though to save headaches are a no brainer

Completely agree. I still appreciate more when a poster makes a deliberately bad MS Paint type copy and paste image or meme than AI generated stuff. They still put some sorta effort in and its unique to the person making it.

This is for all you tech heads, I’m just a salty old sea dog and have no idea about what impact AI may have on our beautiful game but I got to wondering during a slow bite the other day. How will AI impact our game in the coming seasons? I see a lot of AI generated artwork etc and I’m sure most of the Bombers posts have been AI generated cos half of em can’t even read and write.

Will it potentially take the place of simmers? Could it rejig the actual game sim? Could it make the league stop laughing at the Wonders? #lolWonders

Haha, classic Yak energy kicking off a thread after 20 seasons—love to see it. AI and our beautiful game, though? That’s a rabbit hole worth diving into. I reckon there’s definitely potential for AI to shake things up in a few ways.

For starters, imagine if AI took over the simming process. No more waiting on a simmer who’s disappeared for days or wrestling with spreadsheets—games could be run faster and with absolute consistency. It could even spice things up by tweaking the sim engine itself. Think about it: an AI analyzing all the past games and figuring out how to make things fairer or throwing in some chaotic twists we’d never expect.

And then there’s the content side of things. AI writing match previews, match reports, or even delivering some spicy banter? I mean, half the Bombers’ posts already feel AI-generated, so maybe it’s not that much of a stretch. But seriously, imagine an AI-generated roast so brutal even the Wonders might reconsider logging in. #lolWonders

AI co#lolWonderslp with the admin grind—tracking stats, managing drafts, or sorting out trades. Maybe it could even teach the Bombers how to read and write… okay, maybe not, but you get the point. And on the creative side, it could pump out memes and media at a pace we’d struggle to keep up with. The memes alone might be worth it.

That said, AI could never fully replace what makes the league special: the chaos, the personalities, and the vibe. Could a bot capture the pure essence of #lolWonders? Doubt it. B#lolWonderskes the league faster, funnier, or just better in general, maybe it’s worth seeing where it takes us.
