I'd get rid of Lynch too. Petulant, downhill skiier who should be moved on ASAP.

Smith's first quarter was as bad as I've ever seen. He did get better as the game progressed at least.

Not sure what Seedman's problem is. Fitness perhaps? He was excellent in 2018 and decent last year, but can't get out of second gear so far this season.
Your wooden spoon avatar picture needs to have an asterisk against it.....????

My player review.

Jones - Another nearly game, the kid could've and maybe should've had 2 goals. Showed some nice signs but needs a full midfield game.

Brouch - Has lost his clearance winning ability, and his lack of defensive run has gotten worse. Needs a rocket

Murphy - I love his passion, his endeavour and workrate, but it means little if you can't get the pill. If we are to persist he needs to play in defence.

Mrouch - Almost the opposite of Murphy. Gets the ball but has forgotten how to work hard.

Kelly - I hope they show his efforts, because if everyone put their bodies on the line as much as Jake we would be in a better spot. Still, he lacks talent and we need to find someone else.

Sloane - Trying to battle and lead, but he isn't a number 1 mid anymore. Play him at HF with changes on ball now.

Seedsman - His best asset is his kick, and even that has deserted him. Not worth a place in the side.

Talia - Battled against the tide again and was one of few that did his job. And spoke some hard truths.

Walker - Don't let him go out like this please. Tex, you've copped more unfair criticism than almost any player I can remember, so please retire and save yourself.

Brown - Typical Brown game. Not great, not awful..... Now for Charlie, ouch.

Hamill - From the get go he took the game on, hes what Brodie Smith was when he hit the scene.

Crocker - Improved on last week and kicked a deserved goal. Battling against 2 or 3 every contest.

Atkins - Was poor before he left the field.

McHenry - Dirty game, but don't hide him in the pocket for 3 quarters. He's not a natural small forward.

Lynch - I'm done with you.

Keays - Some awful, some decent and a nice goal. Did work hard all game though, so that's a pass

Laird - No use winning it when you give it straight back.

Fogarty - Not a great day, but it's hard to have a good one in that forward line.

Smith - 450 metres gained.... Really ?? Better than last week but still not good.

McAsey - Belted early by a talented kid, but there were mitigating circumstances. Got better as the game went on but I can't help but feel he needs to play forward.

Doedee - Everytime he got the ball he aimed to be proactive and aggressive. Doesn't look to have lost anything at all. Midfield perhaps ??

ROB - Physically bashed up, but still didn't give up and did some nice things around the ground. Ruck craft must improve.

Put Murphy in the back pocket against the small forward and use Brown as a midfield tagger

Mate all about this swap. I wouldn’t even use Brown as a tagger, I would def rotate him through HFF and midfield
You don't find spots for players to keep them in the team if they aren't good enough. Especially if there is a better player in that position such as Sholl, McPherson, Brown, Laird, Hamill. A player picks himself by performance. Said 2 years ago that the investment in Murphy is futile. He will never be afl standard

I think we made a mistake making him captain. He was always captain feel good. I love the guy, but to me Talia is the man to lead us through the down and out next 3 or so years.

I didn’t mind Tex as skipper but Talia should have took over from him. It was so evident today that he’s head and shoulders the leader.

I still think Murphy could be a contributor at AFL level.

Primarily because he has guts, seems good at reading play and is persistent.

He has gone backwards this year. Or least not improving. Tracking like Riley Knight.

Everyone seems to be tracking like Riley Knight the way this season’s gone so far!
I can’t see anyone who has actually taken an obvious step forward this year, which has been unbelievably disappointing.

Just look at Riley Knight, it's is a clue as to what's gone wrong. This was a guy who was a selfless player and one of our few two-way gut runners all day long, a Bickley-type who would who do his job and rub out an opposition player like Selwood when needed... Our "fitness" and coaching staff have destroyed his seasons last two years, and he has not looked like getting on the park this year. This is one guy who would actually bleed for the jumper. Think about that.

I had a family lunch. Was watching the updates and could help but laugh.

This seems like a pretty simple question but is it worth watching the replay for the young kids, or just let this one go through to the keepers?
Same, I was moving house.

With the likely picks we have we can have both this draft and next. :thumbsu:
Who’s looking good, or is this such a shit year to be shit, with no TAC games to get this draft right.

Im not saying don't use Brown in the midfield but why Murphy down back when there are other more natural young defenders we can use down back

Murphy is not AFL standard whether he plays back or forward

Nothing against Nicks but I had no faith that Chapman, Riccuito, Fagan would pick the right coach. Should have been anyone other than them.
They were in that position that I was in, during the run on bog rolls a few months ago. I was looking at shoppers going to their cars with 20 rolls and I was looking at empty shelves. To late to the party.

Looks like I was wrong about Murphy of whom I was a big fan. No improvement discerned.
2 years later, Murphy still huffs and puffs, but ain't blowin' nobody's house down.

Comes a time when a player's performance counts more than pushing and shoving. I'm watching McHenry with interest, hoping his aggro develops into game-changing actions. Fogarty too.
I'd like also to see Nicks convert his talk into action. This Crows unit is playing even worse than the post-bye 2019 rabble.

Yes, he has guts and toughness and a competitive nature. I still remember that mark he took running the wrong way and getting clobbered for it, what, 2 years ago? Murphy does not shirk a contest.
As you point out, he has not improved and needs to convert those characteristics into on-field effectiveness.

He seems to get better the less he plays....

Yeah very concerned on McHenry and somewhat on Fogarty. Just seems very heavy. Must lose weight.
