The latest trade talk now is that Aaron Fiora is heading to Brisbane in exchange for Damien Cupido. The Brisbane lions are expected to have a bit of spare cash when Des Headland leaves which is now almost certain, plus with all their stars now taking pay cuts, and are prepared to pay young Aaron quite a bit more than Richmond can afford at this point of time.

no he's not he has enormous potential and has apparently, acording to one of my sources ;), has had an outstanding year in the reserves

You watch what will happen to Fiora if he goes to a club that is professionally run and coached. He will become a muscle bound star. They would be crazy to trade him. With Wallace as the coach in 2004, he will flourish.
Get rid of those proven soft players Tivendale & Bowden instead. They will look good suntanned and playing for Broadbeach in the QAFL!

Cupido is an exceptional player when fit, tonnes of talent, gonna be a very good league footballer........So is Aaron, no way in hell we give one for the other, id rather give up Tivendale which is what i keep hearing reel deal!

With Greg Miller now at the helm we will be able to convince a lot of ex Vics to come back home, some like Damian dont need that much convincing.

If we end the trade period by getting Johnson and Cupido and only getting rid of Torney and Tivendale plus picks i will be happy.

Just to clarify...

When Fiora was drafted he signed a 4 year contract, of which 3 have now been served. He will be coming out of contract at the end of next year.

How many games did he play in the reserves and if he was playing that well why didn't he get into the side for before the likes of Shattock & Copeland - can you ask your source that? Not doubting his class but I think he is damaged goods, shoulders can be pretty dodgy long term problems.

PLAYERS AND PLAYERS

THE GAME HAS HAS THOUSANDS OF GUYS WHO ARE THERE, THATS AS FAR AS THEY GET. "FAIR TO GOOD", WHILE I MAY BE HARSH- "FAIR" AND SOME TIMES EVEN "GOOD" DOESNT RATE, ITS THE "EXCELLENT TO MATCHWINNER" GUYS THAT ARE NEEDED MOST!!!
THERE ARE THOUSANDS OF LEAGUES FOR THE FAIR TO GOOD TO FADE INTO

Cupido

Cupido is a very talented player (freak) - but two shoulder injuries in two years is not a healthy sign.

The Lions love Fiora and wanted him from day one.

A straight swap wouldn't make sense. There would have to be more in it for the Tigers e.g. another player, draft pick etc.

Well if we are talking that way why didnt marty mcgrath get a run, why were newman and pettifer subjected to limited games and game time, why? because they are the type of players that clubs pick up to try and develop, and thats exactly what brisbane have done and Damien Cupido will definately break out next year.

He did his shoulder (again) early-mid season and sat out the rest of the year after surgery.

He's a potential game breaker and superstar. But two shoulder injuries later his value is not quite the same. Certianly not worth a straight swap with a bloke who is injury free, plays in the middle and was drafted 3 places ahead of him in the same draft.

Like I said... it would need to have more to it.

Wise words Mr. Pug.

Fiora

I'd suggest that we would have to have rocks in our heads to think of trading Fiora for Cupido even though i think Fiora is far to skinny.

Cupido is damaged goods as has already been suggested in earlier posts and the potential for continued injury is very probable and more than likely the guy will never be as good as he looked like he was going to be before his injuries.

I think the gamble would be to high to take and would be very surprised if it eventuated.
