Once upon a time, specifically from 1951-1990, the McClelland Trophy was a club championship award presented to the club with the highest aggregate performance across the three grades of competition that were sanctioned by the VFL/AFL - seniors, reserves, and under-19s - with senior wins carrying a higher value
Since 2023 it is awarded to the club with the best aggregate performance across the AFL and AFLW home-and-away seasons, with AFLW wins worth double. The Dreamons were the inaugural winners under this format
Anyway, we should have a McClolLAND trophy on the Bay and wouldn't it be great to see supporters of the worst performing club get a pretty badge every year... I'm tempted to include the state leagues but that probably makes it way too complicated so we should probably just stick with the AFL and AFLW - but what do you think about this double points business, yay or nay? The rationale is that the girls only play 10 games but IDK if they deserve double points for half the work
