I heard that this morning. This feels like Christian is trying to get him because he wasn’t happy with last week’s result.

A week after the AFL got soundly canned in the press for rigging the outcomes in favor of the franchise/growth markets?

Nah, mere "coincidence" mate.

I read the article and King's argument about it being "in play" has to be the most ridiculous thing he's said about football in years. And he's come up with plenty of stinkers.

Essentially, everyone on the field is in play if his argument is correct.

I can only assume that Gerard put him up to it and Kingy said "OK, I'll do it because we're 100% unaccountable in this cushy line of work, but you have to pay me more to say it with a straight face".

I think he was asked to make a case for him.

Can you even test for blood doping?

Yep!

I thought at the time that Hawkins threw an arm out coz Schofield was blocking him off the ball, a long way off the ball. Getting Schofield in the head just turned out to be "unlucky".

That's pretty much what happened. Unfortunately for Hawkins, it's not an acceptable defence. So, Gerard is not going to run with it.

Yep!

Retrospective, or are the bears flags all safe now?

I get it though

If it actually worked out and his body held up his reputation in the wider football community would be higher. Instead he goes out without much fanfare from North supporters or Collingwood supporters. Half the Collingwood supporters i know can’t wait to see the back of him and a lot of North supporters are still filthy on him for leaving.

Had he stayed at North for the one or two years that was offered at the time he would be loved by North supporters and retired well despite the injuries.
