Are there still people who want to claim Trump is a beacon of free speech?

Throw them in jail for trash talking and dissing the judges, unless of course they are the presiding judge(s) in any number of instances where Trump is on trial. It's OK to do so then and would be unamerican not to.

Floridog what's the popular view in the states of the electoral college system. Is it topical and is there any appetite for a review/evaluation? From the outside it seems archaic and disproportional.
It is archaic and disproportional. You could almost say that it is DEI for white people. As is the archaic and disproportional Senate. There is a fair bit of appetite for review/evaluation but since it is the only thing keeping one of the two major parties afloat there is also a great deal of resistance. The National Popular Vote Interstate Compact (NPVIC) is an agreement among a group of U.S. states and the District of Columbia to award all their electoral votes to whichever presidential ticket wins the overall popular vote in the 50 states and the District of Columbia. So far 17 states have joined the compact representing 209 electoral votes. 4 more states are in the process of joining which would bring the total to 259 electoral votes. The compact only goes into effect if enough states join to get to at least 270 electoral votes. If this happens then the electoral college system is effectively ended. Though there would be legal challenges and the current Supreme Court would certainly rule against it.

The college system is intentionally designed to favour rural over city votes. This was due to the people making the constitution being more rural minded.

I doubt that enough states would join to get NPVIC to 270. That would require swing states to join and they disproportionately get more funding using the current system.

Once the Houston area democrats get organised, Texas becomes marginal and that ends MAGA. That should cause the GOP to shift more centrally.

But we can hope. And with Kamala, joy and hope is on the agenda again:blacksunrays::rainbow:

If the buffoon had a shred of self awareness then he would've retired to an easy life of scamming his followers with shoes, bibles, crypto coins. Or whatever he thinks will enrich him with the absolute minimum of work at their expense.

His grifting of his rubes will never not be funny to me.

All those loyal sheep aren't going to shear themselves.

Its only a matter of time until he sells vials of his shit for his cultists to eat up.

He just met Zelenskyy, what’s the odds he offered him a watch at a discount ?
Or watch at the full price, but throws in a NFT. card.
