Got my membership pack in the mail yesterday. I was already a fan of the new logo but seeing it in real life on a scarf and stickers and whatnot rather than just on my phone screen solidified my love for it.

I dont care if it isn't the professionals choice. I dont care if a million graphic designers think they could do a better job. It looks great, and it now represents the club I love. Zero regrets.
 
Nah, the previous iteration of the logo was introduced in 1995
As an official logo yes (previously everyone used the same VFL type shield), but the previous logo has been on the jumper since the 1933 (with a white ribbon no FQF up until 2004 when the text was included).

The fact the designer didn't know that is staggering. I don't think the new design is too bad but the original logo is 60 years older than he thinks.

He's clearly referring to the previous iteration of the logo which was designed in 94-95.

He knows. He also designed graphics boards showing all of the iterations on the jumper through the decades.
The iteration he updated was from 1995.
