I was sharing a shandy with Kennedy Parker the other day and as we held hands, we both realised something.

KP's term as Administrator of this great game is coming to an end at the end of this VERY season!

Because of his sadness at this SUDDEN turn of events, he's asked me and the committee to commence the process to find his successor. We are now calling for applications from interested people to become the next Administrator, for S37 and beyond.

Here's the process:

1. We're going to collect expressions of interest from applicants that detail their credentials, why they want the role, ideas for the league going forward etc. (RIGHT HECKING NOW)
2. We'll review these applications and select a shortlist of viable candidates to move onto the next stage (+APPROX 1 WEEK).
3. We'll then the candidates into the committee room for a Q+A and will launch a public AMA thread as is tradition (+APPROX 2 WEEKS).
4. In the committee room, we'll then run a preferential vote among all the clubs, where candidates are ranked from most to least preferred (+APPROX 1 WEEK).

If you believe that you have the drive, the fortitude and the skills to take this league forward, please write a shortish application via PM to both KP and myself by Friday, 06/10/23. In this initial EOI, please:

• briefly set out your platform,
• state any relevant experience that you may possess,
• present your vision for where you wish to take the league,
• espouse policies that may enhance the experience of all of the players,
• present any other ideas you have that might be of use to the league.

The process roadmap will take several weeks and - as per the rules of this great league - will be committee-led. That doesn't mean non-committee members shouldn't get involved in the process too - participate in the AMA thread we launch with shortlisted candidates and get in touch with your Club LG to make sure your voice is heard and represented!

3F) Administrator Selection

The Administrator is selected through a Committee election held every third season. Candidates for the Administrator role will send a written application through the incumbent Administrator via Private Message.

Candidates are subject to vetting from the league Administrator and Site Moderators on the basis of their record of past behaviour.

The Candidates who are accepted will be publicly announced by the incumbent Administrator.

Where there are more than two Candidates in the election the method of voting will be Preferential/Ranked Choice/Instant Runoff.

The Candidate who wins a clear majority of Committee votes will become the Administrator for the subsequent season.

The incumbent Administrator has the right to extend their tenure for an additional cycle with the agreement of a majority of the Committee in which case an election will not be required until the next cycle.

If the Administrator steps down prior to an election, the General Manager of Qooty Operations will become the Administrator until the next election is held.

I will be looking for applicants who are principled and represent the inherent values of the league. They must have leadership experience and preferably experience in the Committee processes. A good administrator needs to have credibility, their word needs to be trusted and when they say something it needs to be followed up with actions. I am looking for people with a plan for sustainable growth, and a respect and understanding of the history of the league. They need to a great communicator - information and messages need to be effectively relayed to the public. The administrator role requires somebody with a cool head - one that will be able to remove emotion from decision-making, and think through the implications of their actions and policies. They should demonstrate an appetite for intense work, and an ability to manage a timeline and plan for the future. Finally, they need to possess outstanding management and leadership skills in working with people, in order harness the skills and enthusiasm of people in the Sweet FA to make for a productive period for the league.

I remember when my parents wanted me to go to this elite private school and I completed their entrance exams for a scholarship, and the principal looked at my results and she said "Yes I think we can find a place for you at our school. Now there are a few school rules that we need to start following immediately. There's no smoking in or out of school uniform at any time even at home. And there's no sex with the girls.
