Got on in July 21, have sold and re-invested a couple of times, and now have a long term strategy, basically risk free from here
Yeah I've thought about investing, in medicinal cannabis, my sister invested a couple of years ago and has done alright.
If they legalize weed like they did in the US there'll be heaps of campaigners starting up. I guess those on the ground floor will boom early days.

That's the hope really, get in early, ride the boom, then cash out happy.

Is the better half giving you all of Friday to get toasted or leaving late?

We all need a countdown clock in here so we can count you in.

Really should be investing more instead of punting. Funny cos investing is just another form of punting
Gambling is just that instant reward for the dopamine hit instead of playing the long smart game
1 is punting on a company with strategies and performance history behind them. Gambling is hoping James Harden didn’t go to the strippers the night before and might drop 50 any given night 😂

gonna break my tv with a sledgehammer if it happens again

Lucky you, I'd pay a TV to not have to deal with a couple of hours of public transport to travel less than 10km, packed to the rafters with mindless Brions singing their lame Brions song who think they won legitimately.

Again.

Probably better to just hit a pub or three until they're all cleared out this time if the worst happens!

If got on August 2021 and sold September 2022 would have multiplied your cash by 11x.

Knew a genius tech head bloke who bought 10 bitcoin @ $300 way back at the beginning and gradually sold out for barely triple that in the end because he needed ice.

Fully knew it was gonna cost him an absolute packet down the track (nearly half a million by now from his original $3K investment if he'd held), but that itch just had to be scratched. Didn't end well.

A friend who is a municipal arborist just called to tell me about a guy who cut down 32 big mature trees on his neighbor's NJ property to get a better view of NYC. He hired a guy who hired another guy. Cut them down and left the debris there. The fine per tree is $1000 so the 1/

guy propably thought he was going to just pay a $32k fine. But the arborist wrote violations to all 3 parties, 96 in all (by hand, took him 12 hours) and there's a provision requiring the replanting of like trees "of the same size." And it's on an inaccessible by road

3/ mountainside. He put the affronted landowner in touch with the only guy who would take on such a job. Thry have to build a road, remove the debris, plant big trees and water them for two years. He quoted $1.5 million. And additional fines total $400k. I hope whoever this ass

4/4 is he can't pay and they lien and sell his property, the value of which he probably figured would be increased so much a $32k fine was worth it, to cover the cost. We are living in the Jaime Dimon ethos. "So fine us, we can afford it."

Taking the piss out of Xi is definitely off the menu again...if that counts as "severe", how many levels after that and what might they be called...o_O

Stand-up comedians in China are facing a tough crowd. Many say they are sticking to safe topics and avoiding anything remotely sensitive, fearing that the censors are clamping down.

The comedy scene has become popular among young Chinese in recent years. But there is growing uncertainty over how far performers can go after a comedian was placed under investigation by police last month. He had made a joke at the expense of the People’s Liberation Army.

“There are fewer shows, and we’ve had to step further back from the boundaries – so just talk about stuff to do with daily life,” one comedian, who declined to be identified, said after his late-night show in Beijing.

Speaking on a podcast, another comic said many performers were now self-censoring. “After the incident, many began to feel confused and lost, and deleted the sensitive [content from their shows],” the comedian said.

That incident was a show in Beijing in the middle of May. Li Haoshi, better known by his stage name House, won laughs when he joked about his two dogs, praising their “excellent conduct and ability to win battles” – a slogan President Xi Jinping has used for the PLA.

Li is now under investigation for “severely insulting the PLA”, according to a statement from Beijing police. His whereabouts are unknown.

The company he works for – Shanghai Xiaoguo Culture Media – was fined 13.35 million yuan (US$1.9 million), while 1.33 million yuan in “illegal gains” was confiscated. The stand-up comedy company has been banned indefinitely from putting on performances.
