I had bushfires near my place in 2019. The problem is you are on mains water is every campaigner plus the fire brigade are using water and lots of it. I evacuated my place when the fires were close, the water from the hose was just a trickle an I was gonna do feck all if anything caught alight. You can set up tanks, diesel pumps proper fire hoses etc but it's costly. These areas look like suburbia so I doubt anyone thought this would happen.
