How soon people forget .
I kind of think they’re almost the same in terms of traits and abilities. Both are equally good in midfield and all around the ground, and are excellent captain material. Goodwin’s marking was also extremely good, like Dawson.
The main difference right now is that Goodwin has produced the goods in the most important games. Otherwise, I don’t see too much difference.
I’d be interested to see what our ‘clearance efficiency’ looked like on Saturday
It felt like any time we got clearance against Essendon, it directly led to a goal, more often than not. Couldn’t say I felt the same way about the Bombers
Yes, we could certainly win more clearances head2head, though
Same goes for Max/Ben Hart comparisons. Laughable to put them in the same conversation. Yes, max has Hart-like traits, but it’s unlikely he reaches Ben Hart levels of good. Not a knock on Max. Says more about Ben Hart. Recency bias def is alive and well at the moment.
Being a 5 x AA doesnt though.
Dawson is very good, but hes not at that level yet.
Roo being absent and Hentschels knee being destroyed didnt help.
Very good players - although they haven't achieved a ton yet - but talking about complete midfields. Hawks names don't stack up on paper against the star studded ones like Neale, Dunkley, McLuggage, Rayner, Ashcroft etc.

Awesome start to the year by you boys, I think what isnt being talked about here in regards to your midfield is ROB giving them unbelievable service as well going at 35% hitout to advantage on a huge volume across your first two weeks. Definitely been the best in the ruck contest to start the year. He's always been a beast in that category so if your mids are actually this good its going to be one of the top groups this year

Couple of years ago I was watching a Showdown and thought to myself that us and Port should have won every flag from 1997 to 2006.
Illicit drugs were the only thing that stopped us winning the 2006 prelim against the drug-fuelled Ben Cousins and Daniel Kerr. Cousins came out after half time and was not human. It's been well documented they were both on the juice during that game in fact during that season.

Yeah, no. It is possible that's how it all shakes out, but there is a lot of water to still flow under that bridge. It'll need a hell of a run though, and probably captaining a flag.
After all, we are talking about someone who is in the top 5 of the most important players in Adelaide Crows history.
Or in this case, just have no idea......

Unfortunately Craig didn't believe in trading in forwards to cover our needs.
What a waste.
There whole of club approach during that period is madness. Had everything but a forward line.
And you don't trade for one? Just dumb.
Hentschel injury probably cost us the flag in 06.

He’ll get pushed down to 6. Dawson up to this season hasn’t had the class around him that Goodwin had. Not disputing Goodys quality just saying that Dawson is better.
