CASE 2: FIGHTING FURIES DON'T ADD TheMidRunner TO THE SQUAD LIST

The co-captains of the Fighting Furies Wacky Tiger and 3121 premiers have been brought before the Sweet FA Tribunal for failing to amend their squad list before submitting their official team sheet for Round 2.

On the 2nd of February, the Furies announced the signing of TheMidRunner and the delisting of EvenExhale. With the squad list expected to be amended.

On the 8th of February, the Furies then posted their official team sheet for Round 2 with TheMidRunner included in the back pocket.

However, on closer inspection TheMidRunner had not in fact been added to the official Furies squad list until 2:10pm 9th of February as EvenExhale was still on the list in place of TheMidRunner. The image shown is a screenshot of the version directly before the edit today. This means that at the time of the Furies naming their Round 2 official team sheet TheMidRunner was not a listed player.



There is no specific rule relating to this exact scenario where a team forgets to amend their squad list after signing a new player and then names the unlisted player so a full trial is needed to determine the outcome.

Each of the accused have the right to plea:
GUILTY -> tribunal proceeds to stage of sentencing a penalty
NOT GUILTY -> The committee is called to the tribunal to vote GUILTY or NOT GUILTY on whether they believe an offense has occurred, a clear majority (more guilty votes than not guilty votes) is needed for a GUILTY verdict.

If any accused party pleads NOT GUILTY they are allowed to make a 'Statement of Defense' before anyone else is to comment in the Tribunal.

3A) Squad Management
Captains need to submit final squads by the deadline set by administration. After this deadline, all signings and delistings must be noted in the squad submission thread. Squads lists must also be altered (preferred) or re-posted (if original poster unavailable) to reflect these signings/delistings before they are allowed to play.

Clear breach of rule 3A. The squad list was not altered or reposted; therefore TheMidRunner should not have been named as he was ineligible.

Medium Impact (one match suspension for captains):
Incorrect positional changes.
Listing an ineligible player.

In regards to the case of the Fighting Furies.

3121 premiers has his 1 game ban changed to a 1 game ban 4-week suspended sentence for the mitigating factor of self-reporting. This will only be activated if the Furies commit another team sheet offense in the next 4 weeks.

Wacky Tiger is still suspended for next round.

CASE 2 (the last one wasn't really a hearing ): LAS VEGAS BEARS APPEAL CAPTAIN SUSPENSION

This week Las Vegas Bears captain JoshWoodenSpoon was handed a 1 game suspension for the medium impact offense of listing an ineligible player.
This occurred in the signing of gym4life whereby gym4life was added to the squad list before he filled out the sign-up form.

List was amended in the squad submission at Sunday, 18th Feb, 3:08pm

G4L filled out the form with Post #258 after the administrator informed the captain of the error.

This was ruled to be a breach of Rule 3C

3C) Eligibility to sign players
After the team submission deadline, players are linked to their club. Players can only be signed to a club within the season once they have satisfied the criteria of Restricted Free Agency.

Restricted Free Agency

Any players delisted during the season (that were on the original squad) can be signed as a delisted free agent by any other club (including the original club). The player must enter the team sign up thread and the same rules apply as if the delisted free agent were a new or returning player to the Sweet FA. A "delisted free agent" is only identified if they have been delisted by their club, not if they have walked out. Delisted free agency eligibility ends four rounds prior to finals. The admin must approve the signing of any delisted player by his/her new team and reserves the right to defer to the committee for any further discussion should it be required. If a delisted player does not qualify for Restricted Free Agency then they can only be re-signed by their original club for that season. This can be done freely with the agreement of both parties.

During the season, any new players in the sign-up thread will be signed to the club of their choice. The signing will only become official after a 24 hour "bidding process" where the new player will make a final call on which club they want to join. New players will only be found to have nominated once they fill out the application form in the OP of the sign up thread and the 24 hour period is from the time this is posted.

Unrestricted Free Agency

Unrestricted free agency occurs between seasons. Free agents may only be signed with permission. Player movement between clubs is unrestricted with permission (of the player).

Any player movement not specified in the rules is not considered legal. In the event of uncertainty, the club must contact the administrator for consideration with the committee.

The Las Vegas Bears have decided to exercise their right to appeal this decision to the Sweet FA Tribunal.

The hearing process will proceed as follows:
- all 12 committee members are allowed to vote GUILTY or NOT GUILTY or abstain from voting
- there must be more NOT GUILTY votes than GUILTY to overturn the original administrator decision
- the defendant will make a 'statement of defense' before any votes are taken
- the hearing will enter a discussion phase - deadline is specified
- after discussion phase deadline the tribunal will go to a vote phase whereby committee members must cast their votes in this thread

Here is indicated, in our fair rules, that a tenderfoot is utterly distinct to a returning player. There can be no doubt in this, neither the same as 'nother.

Up yonder we now find the stipulation in question. Clearly evidenced is no mention of any sort of returning player. One sees in their humorous and attentive posting, combined there with an illustrious string of 39 games, that gym4life has taken to our very fields before. This is no sort of new player. This is an above-board veteran, afly in the game of qooty.
