Kennett sat next to lynch on the plane? Surly that rules hawks out!!
He did go onto say it was by chance as Tom was only is business because he was injured. Also covered himself by saying that they didn’t discuss football or his contract.

Errrrmmmm - Kennett is a politician down to his bone marrow . .

You have heard the old chestnut about politicians ????

How can you tell if a politician is lying?

Their mouth is open . . .

And this applies more to Kennett than most.

Jon Ralph, who has been the Richmond cheerleader for a long while, has said Collingwood is where he thinks Lynch will end up in the latest Herald Sun prediction article.

About a 70/30 split with Richmond/Collingwood predictions.

"Was Lynch upset that you went public on Footy Classified?" would probably be a good starting point.
I’m of a slightly different opinion.
Nathan can answer what he wants and when.

I’m not caring what the media get up to.
They are generally rats from sewer.
We play a straight bat or a cover drive or a big whack.

I don’t like apologising for our media strategy and we shouldn’t apologise as a club if we are fair and responsive.

The media will twist it all the same what ever we do.

We are lucky our club has as a good a media performer going around as Nathan.

Ed? That’s a who different story.

Mihocek is far better value and is part of a TEAM, Lynch is a mercenary seeking a payday and a flag off the back of good young men achieving together.

TEAM first, last and always - SIDE BY SIDE - means exactly what it says jmac.

We are good enough with the addition of a key BACK or two.

For me Lynch is surplus to requirements.
Though the best side by side is actually winning the premiership.

The rest is logistics to get there.

Kennett was taking the piss and the interviewer (unsure who it was) was chuckling). It was blatant bullshit, both Kennett and the interviewer knew it.

I don't have any faith at all in the 'twin towers' concept of forward line configuration.

Isn't it working wonderfully for Sydney eh?

Gary Abblet Snr - probably the finest forward of the modern era - despite the finest ever performance in a GF still couldn't get his team over the Hawks.

The best forward line is the one that has too many threats to cover - if you have 'twin towers' it becomes predictable and the defense can cover for each other.

As it is now if Cox doesn't kick a bag, DeGoo will, if not him, Stevo does, or Thomas or even Mihocek.

Too many targets to be covered.

We have a GREAT forward setup NOW - there is an old saying on perfectionism . . . .

When you think you ALMOST have it perfect . . . .

STOP!!

Fair points.
Your logic is valid.

Just on Gary Ablett snr whilst he didn’t get them over the line without his play 1989 GF likely Geelong lose by 6 to 8 goals.

Gary Snr was also inconspicuous by his absence in play 1992 and average in the other GFs.

Agreed on Snr Saintly - BUT the other side of the argument is that having an Ablett in any team draws the ball - so all you need to do is camp on him and you have the attack nullified to a large extent.

We had similar experience with Cloke - remember all those years of bombing it onto Cloke's head??? GAHHHHHHH :sick::'(:'(:'(

GCS outrage was totally contrived and quite ridiculous.

If Lynch's anger turns him away from Collingwood and towards another club, he wasn't keen on Collingwood to begin with.
The fact that he has met with Hardwick and Clarko would mean that the current story has little relevance other than to tell us that a player was pissed off about his movements becoming public knowledge.

If GCS thought that contemplating his future excluded meeting other clubs, then it's no wonder they're in their current predicament.
No, they knew exactly what was happening, planned their 'savage' reaction and gave the media plenty of rope.

I hope we don't get him. Teams play better when they don't have a big chf. The midfield tends to get one eyed and doesn't look for the best option and instead looks for the big forward. We should keep some money in the bank for a decent backline instead. Kicking goals is not our problem.

"Lynch is said to be angry at the Pies after Buckley's comments"

Nek minnit...

There's no hiding going on here so why would Lynch care (Like care enough to be angry...)

Garbage journalism.

kicking goals in home and away has been ok. finals are a different beast. it'll become evident why he is important.

Lynch ain't worth chasing if he was to backflip over this BS media noise. His decision far out ways being a little annoyed at your perspective new coach telling the media of a meeting.....Does it really matter?? He was always leaving anyway and the coasters were pretty much aware he'd made his decision to leave at years end.
