You know this thread is he going there or coming here it is reaching the status of TD,s legendary trip to Noosa but nothing like as funny.
If he comes here well and good if he goes to the Hawks or Tigers also well and good but if by any chance we could get May or any other mature KPD I will be ecstatic because that is what we need desperately.
If we did not lose Dunne and Sharenberg I feel certain we were a strong contender,The loss of Moore and Reid has also impacted us but Dunne and Shaz have been in all season and it is no surprise we have been up and down since losing them.
I would not mind us asking about Thompson from the Suns either but we must bring in an experienced big bodied defender even if only as cover.
I am not as confident on Moore or Reid for the future being very durable but we shall see.

Why is there any need for misdirection from Ed?

Personally I think it’s ridiculous that he engages in these discussions. That said if the Lynch party has given indications that we’re his club of choice, but they would like to keep it quiet I think that’s a pretty big motivator to engage in that type of discussion.

He’s in the media...it’s topical, so can’t really avoid it.

Mihocek is far better value and is part of a TEAM, Lynch is a mercenary seeking a payday and a flag off the back of good young men achieving together.

TEAM first, last and always - SIDE BY SIDE - means exactly what it says jmac.

We are good enough with the addition of a key BACK or two.

For me Lynch is surplus to requirements.
totally agree.

A key defender is a far more pressing need than a key forward particularly give the injuries to Dunn & Scharenberg - the multi faceted forward line has been a real success story this year and there's no reason that won't continue into the future - given the likely cost of bringing Lynch in I cannot see how this represents any sort of value.

He can. Like Watson did when discussions around Essendon popped up he just stays quiet. If he ran his show by himself that’s fair, but he should allow others to engage in this particular discussion, IMO.

Wouldn’t shock me if the me

Because of the current landscape and media. Would the actual words spoken by Bucks bother me? No. But the media reaction because of those words would.

Would I like for there to be an open landscape where there is no media beat up? Yes. Would I like the first time coach publically admits it to be my name? No.

As I see it, the only issue Lynch would have with Buck's comments was that it forced his and GCS hand. GCS weren't so stupid as to assume he wasn't exploring options but both parties could continue to play the game while there was that veil of uncertainty. That evaporated on the back of Buck's comments.

he said Lynch wouldn't improve our forward line. not sure how you cant take that any other way.
I think he said he would be an improvement on our existing talent, but would demand that we change the structure of our forward line to one that has not recently been as successful for us, and as such the money we would need to pay to secure him would not be worth it in terms of the likely improvement we would get in offensive output.

... but sure, be reductionist if it makes you happy.

SEN this morning we’re talking about the comments made from Edmund yesterday and there was more to it - did anyone get hold of what it as?

On iPhone using BigFooty.com mobile app
SEN with Bucks (paraphrased)
Bucks- first i've heard of Lynch being upset.
Bucks- Ned Guy wasn't there to smooth over anything - we are trying to recruit him, its part of the process duh..
Bucks- what did you think the purpose of the article was....Gerard - to make it look like you are 3rd in the race. What did you think? Bucks - no idea, not one of Sam's best efforts. Not that i am spending much time thinking about it.

The Essendon Drugs scandal was a huge affair, resulting in the largest punishment ever dished out to a Club & playing group. There also could have been criminal charges?? However that was avoided.
Hence, I can understand a ‘connected’ media person avoiding commentary at every twist & turn.
The recruitment of a Free Agent player...should not be a ‘no go zone’ for a media person.
It’s not a big deal...there will be hundreds more Free Agent transfers going forward.
It’s now part of the Football landscape.

I was under the impression Bucks threw him under the bus......….go figure.

Where can I listen to this. It sounds like good listening!

Exactly. The best part is that Tiger flog had his chest out yesterday about the article as though it backed him up...exactly what i was saying etc etc. If that is what he knows..then he knows nothing. He may end up going to Tigers, but that bloke knows nothing.

If you were listening to Eddie on MMM this morning you'd have to think that Lynch is Tiger bound.

They were talking about Cotchin extending his contract out until 2022, when he is already contracted until the end of 2020. The discussion then between Edddie and Tom Browne moved on as to why the extension would be done now and this was led by Eddie.

It went something like this:

Eddie: Why do you think that the extension was done now?

Tom: I'm not sure Ed.

Eddie: Could it be that they are freeing up cap space and back ending his deal?

Tom: Could be Ed. That would free up some room to land a free agent.

Eddie: Like the biggest free agent available this year?

The conversation on this issue was all led by Eddie and i can't see why he would be angling the talk down this path if he didn't think that Richmond have secured Lynch.

I'm going to stick with Ed not showing his cards until we've well and truly played them. Poker face right now.

They could be going after Gaff for all we know. Good opportunity to replace a weak link.

We all choose to believe what we want. I choose to believe Ed comments on stuff he doesn’t need to there’s no grey to avoiding it it’s simply not necessary for him to be involved. It’s also not a part of the football landscape there isn’t a single other President with their own radio show running public commentary on it. It is completely unique!

The whole argument that Bucks threw him under the bus is some of the most ridiculous crap I've ever heard.

The question that was put to Bucks about whether he had spoken to Lynch (to which he answered yes) was after it was widely reported that Lynch had met with Richmond, something that Richmond never denied. yet it's Bucks who made him upset?

I don't reckon Lynch gives a shit myself. It's a total media beat up because they have nothing to say.
