He doesn't rack up huge stats but when the ball is in his hands something positive happens

Not only that but he puts his little frame on the line time and time again. 14 contested possessions and 5 tackles

Watching his career unfold is going to be so exciting

He is close to my favourite player already. Absolutely love his work. His ball handling is getting cleaner as his confidence grows. When he scoops it up one touch and accelerates you know something good will happen. Starting to take the game on more and more and back himself. Is going to be very special this one. Well done Freo on a brave drafting move. Good as Rich is going to be I'd take Hill ahead of him on what we've seen.

Absolute gun in the making. Very exciting watching his his skills and decision making improve as his confidence develop. I think he is starting to realise he just how much he can do with his speed and evasiveness.

Hill >>>>>> Rich

he has this j-Lo esg talent, when he has the ball it looks like he's cruising, but then the camera zooms out and you see he's getting further away from the chaser!!!! amazing!

the next peter matera

What an exciting young talent! Bold move, great reward.

Last year all the talk was that Palmer was an outside mid who couldnt do much in close. Wrong.

This year, Hill was pegged as a halfback flanker who couldnt do much in close. Wrong, wrong, wrong.

Really loving this kid, from the mighty Falcons no less!

You get the feeling that when he has the ball, we have a better than average chance of scoring out of it. He scored 2.2, got that final goal to Sandi, and there may have been more I can't remember.

That bit where he broke from the centre and just missed the goal was almost ... dare I say it ... Judd-like.

I think he has a bit of a Peter Matera quality about him, who is a nice South Freo boy, though I believe he payed a couple of games with some other mob

Made the call a few weeks back. Definitely a Matera in the making.

Shouldn't have doubted my dislike for Rich last year, you blokes. ;)

Hopefully it will shut the media up about us taking him over Rich. Could only have one of them.

Absolutely, it is a disgrace that such young players get questioned so early in their careers, it is obvious that Hill is further behind in his development than Rich. Port Adelaide, Essendon and Carlton all chose to overlook Rich as well, yet don't seem to face the same scrutiny. Maybe people are just salavating at another perceived Freo recruiting error.

For him to be one of the best afield today with such a light frame is a testament to his skills. Hope he can keep it up!

Very impressive.

Has certainly got some pace, and importantly knows when & where to run and kicks the ball long to advantage.

Definitely had me cursing why his opponent had little interest in being anywhere near him, particularly considering they'd highly unlikely be able to catch him from an equal start. *shakes head*. Oh well, 105 DT points.:thumbsu:
