They were moving from tas to melbz they lady was opening up a salon.

My daughter has moved and looking for a new hairdresser closer to where she lives. I didn’t realise that some places now like to do a consult and quote prior to booking an appt. The consult is a non refundable $50 but is deducted from the final bill


Back from her consult and we’ve had to revive her with smelling salts

$780 for cut,color, foils

Well that is bullshit, I mean do any tradies ever charge for a quote for just one example?

I pay $25 bucks in the joint at my local shopping centre food court, in and out in 4 mins sometimes i reckon, too easy.

Exactly. You don't have to pay it, but you don't have a right to tell a creative that they're overpriced when you haven't even seen their work.

My old Barber when I was a little rock.
Used to have about 4 cigs on the go at once .
Cut left side have a smoke.
Cut back have a smoke.
Cut right side have a smoke.
Cut front have a smoke.

As I said in the original post, she declined.
The accepted “quote” is $430 an increase of $60 from where she normally goes and that seems to be pretty standard for the area with the above being the exception

I pay $45 for a haircut and beard trim. Some places closer to me charge double. To be honest, if I wanted some kind of fancy styling I would probably opt for the more expensive place but I can't justify it for a head shave and a tidying up of my beard.

It’s like telling the difference between a $25 bottle of wine and a $50 bottle. Can you really taste the difference? (I usually pay $10-$15 so…)
