I'd be interested in peoples opinion on the how teams will finish by the end of the minor round 2006.

Have been away a while and want to get my head around who is likey to be amongst it this year.

Listing your selection of the premiership ladder would be great!
 
Hard to be difinitive at this moment as clubs are still in recruiting phase.

I don't think much will change from last year. Central District, Port Adelaide, North Adelaide and W-WT Eagles will play off for the premiership.

Central have lost a number of players but still have a very good list, Port and North could be the improvers in the premiership stakes for 2006. Not sure about Eagles, you would tend to think they've run their race, but they should a fire in their guts to push for another chance at the flag.

Maybe top 4 at the end of the minor round:
1 Port
2 North
3 Central
4 Eagles

Norwood and Sturt would possibly contend for 5th spot on the ladder, with maybe Glenelg offering competition as well. Norwood's run home to the finals last year was impressive and I hear Trevor Hill is doing good things at the Parade. Being a redleg myself, I'd like to think possibly Norwood may snare 5th spot.

South Adelaide have lost far too many players to be a stable side this season, and West Adelaide also appear to be low on numbers. I can't see either team pushing for a finals spot in 2006.

So, in light of recruiting, and all teams having a reasonable run with injuries, and a lack of interferance from the Crows and Power, my top 9 at the end of the minor round will be:

1 Port
2 North
3 Central
4 Eagles
5 Norwood
6 Sturt
7 Glenelg
8 South
9 West

Too early to call a premiership favourite in my eyes, and all clubs have 6 months to make my selections look silly :)
 
Hard to pick but at this stage i'd say....

Port Adel

Eagles
Central District
Sturt
Glenelg
South Adel
Norwood
West Adel


The last & first four could finish in any order though imo, so just a bit of a guess...

South (Always spend big money and do nothing)
Glenelg
Westies (No ruckman with Marsh retired, Dabrowski gone and Clarke rookied)

Each team in their group could finish in any position within that group!

I think your underestimating South Adelaide they have some good additions on the cards and I think they will be play finals this year and possibly be a contender.
