Thompson means Hale & McIntosh will get goes in ruck!

With Thompson being the 3rd forward,sav at full forward and Drw at CHF,it means that we are going to persist with Hale in his development as well as bringing on Mcintosh which is great in ruck duties.

Its a good sign that it looks like the club wants these 2 to become genuine ruckman in partnership.

If Ottens was to come to roos i feel it would have put back these 2 players.

Thats why i feel Picking up Thompson makes more sense than Ottens.

Not so sure, I think we have too many forwards now. Sav, Drew, Thompson, Hale and McIntosh are all better forwards than ruckmen. I think Thommo will either spend a lot of time in the ruck, or Hale and McIntosh won't play much of a role next year at all.

We are going to be extremely tall, if Porter and McKernan play in the side as well. This leaves little room for a Hale or McIntosh. Just think about it this way: Sav Tommo Petrie in the forward line, McKernan Porter in ruck, theres little room for another ruckman.

BTW - We have to have the tallest starting line-up in the league by far now!!!

I don't think ports will be on the list, Hale or corey(depending on which one turns up) will be #1 ruck and change with thomo

I would expect Porter to not play next year while one of Rocca or Mc Kernan will be at Port 4 or 5 rounds in.

ATM I think only Thompson could be penciled in up forward. Drew isn't a certainty there while both Sav and Corey have significant down sides to go with their up sides. And the young guys have yet to prove enough to put them in contention.

I would expect a pre season of immense competition at Roo land with the make up of the side being determined by performance not reputation.

maybe as was said in another post ,Drew could be the answer at CHB,running the lines ,straight at the ball,and we know how hard he hits packs and players,like a cornes type player?

i love the flexibility we now have!

Hopefully sort out a trade with melbourne for T johnstone. using Watt and any other player that we have not drafted since 2000.

i like watt but against the bigger opponents his lack of intensity is disgusting.

with Trotter, Watson, Hamish, Urch, Shore, Perry, Ch Jones, S Harvey( i hate saying it)... we have some very talented youngsters who will be given time to get on the roids or whatever is neccersay in order for them to have brisbane lionesq bodies which will in turn make us a very formidable opponent.
