Haven't been to any TAC games or SANFL, WAFL games et cetera due to work commitments but my thoughts on my first view of most of these players -
Tas - Grima - obviously outstanding performance, good athleticism and finishing skills, quite clever - major question mark that he played on a 16 year old in the first half and a lightweight in the second half - very draftabale though. Thorp - think he is a genuinely exciting prospect for next year - strong key defender with a footy brain and did a lot of good things all over the ground. Would be top-10 easily this year from what I saw if he was eligible.
Didn't really think much of the rest.
NT - ordinary lot, Campbell's got the pace and skill to be worth consideration but very small. Most of the others had off days but a couple look OK for future drafts, Measures in particular (not indigenous).
QLD - quite a few likely types, no superstars but Dzufer (middle-low rounds) should be drafted this year and Armitage (liked him a fair bit), Proud, Petterd are among a few likely draftees for next year.
NSW - not particulary impressed by this group, but I think Keiren Jack is a very good player, runs very hard, hard at it and kicking is improving. Size is a problem though, but should be drafted, definite rookie.
SA - lot of good types - Sam Elliot is top 3 talent, whether size pushes him down is a question, but great awareness in traffic, ball winning and usage. Very good player. Bit underwhelmed by Hurn but did some nice things. Expect a player with that sort of physical advantage to dominate more but perhaps had an off day, still useful, though. Pfeiffer's got a touch of class and will be drafted, did a lot of nice things, perhaps a first rounder even.
Bode had a fine game and looks a good footballer, I worry about his pace?
Rischbieth was a very strong, leading presence and had a good game, not sure about him yet. Redden did a lot of good work but kicking is questionable. McEntee has a lot of upside and may be a decent ruck prospect and Cleve Hughes looks a very likely, possible top 10 pick atheltic forward. A number of others looked OK too - Bricknell, Dutschke, Obst and Sugars.
Country - Ellis is a classy top 5 runnign defender/midfielder, good all round player. Lachlan Hansen is an exciting prospect for next year, athletic marking tall. Selwood was steady but unspectactular, looks a player though. Bowe had a fine game and though small may be draftable. Drum is over-rated, a bit slow, does some good things though. Eddy showed some class but a bit outsidey and generally disappointed by this group.
Metro - plenty of contributors - Murphy will not be passed up by Brisbane, Dowler looked very good, no 1 pick at this stage, not wonderfully excited about many others but quite a few good prospects Jones and Adams, in particular - Ryan Jackson will appeal to clubs more this year.
WA - disappointing but showed a bit second half -lot of talented developing talls - Gumbleton, Kennedy and Ryder. Clark was disappointing, Jetta, Benjamin going to be very good players, Conway small, but great performance. Swaller will be drafted, Toovey?
Mock draft at this stage -
Carlton 1. Beau Dowler (Oakleigh Chargers)
Hawthorn 2. Sam Elliott (South Adelaide)
Carlton 3. Xavier Ellis (Melbourne Grammar)
Hawthorn 4. Patrick Ryder (East Fremantle)
Collingwood 5. Shannon Hurn (Central Districts)
Essendon 6. Cleve Hughes (Norwood)
Fremantle 7. Mitchell Clark (East Fremanle)
Western Bulldogs 8. Marcus Drum (Murray Bushrangers)
Brisbane 9. Todd Grima (Northern Bombers)
St Kilda 10. Darren Pfeiffer (Norwood)
