Not I, unfortunately. Solely because I'm currently living 300km away. But several of my friends did.

While I'd have loved to have been there I can't complain, I've seen them probably 35+ times and I'll see them again next time they play in Melbourne. They released their new album/DVD of their previous gig that I was at. I was interviewed as a part of it and have just found out that I'm in the extra features. WOOHOO! Thats a must buy for me (not that I wouldn't have bought it anyway- I've got every TISM album). I admit it, I live a sad existance.

I bought that box set. Good value for $40. So where exactly do you appear in the doco?

After the gig I actually spoke to the Asian chick who got onstage. She said she was nervous as all f**k getting up there. A mate of mine managed to grab himself a novel souvenir while in the mosh pit...

I can already see the new Bond's commercials on tv...

Afterwards we kicked on at the Pony Club where we ran into a very inebriated Jon St. Peenis...

I went on Friday night.. I was walking past with some friends, and was offereed a ticket to the show for 50 cents.
Considering one of the people I was with was going, and I am a fan, I invested in a ticket.

Worth every cent, too! I first saw TISM about 11 years ago, and they are always awesome live. Loved the 'TISM Idol' thing, too.

Nah, a mate of mine watched it on the weekend. He and his girlfriend were on there and I was standing in the background, but they scrapped the interview they did with me. Must've been because when they asked me what I'd do if TISM broke up I answered that I'd probably just slash my wrists and lie in a hot bath for a couple of days. Obviously some people might take me seriously.

Hell yeah! Machiavelli and the Four Seasons is the personal favourite, followed by Great Truckin' Songs. The later albums are guarenteed to have at least one or two really good songs on them and they're always good for a laugh.

He's a good teacher...i think he's at an all girls school now!

Somebody sent me thse lyrics to 2 of tehir earlier classics. Does anyone know if they are correct?

Kill Americans
Kill all the flag-waving, red-blooded, young Yankee boys
String their torsos up and use their dicks as toys
Nuke every US city, blow them to the sky
Every single ****ing yank deserves to ****ing die

Then get all the mothers and every apple pie
And gun them down with M-16s, aimin' at their eyes
Round up every US citizen, all except the Jews
Take that lot to Israel and wipe that lot out too

And then get all the Vietnamese that were napalmed to death
And everyone from El Salvador and Cuba and Chile and the rest
And say 'look the yanks are gone, the world is once again free
No more napalm, no more CIA, no more Wounded Knee'
And when they are all celebrating... nuke the ****ing lot
And there'll be lots of jelly gasoline in every babies cot

And then load an M-16, give it plenty of feeling,
Put it to your temple, blow your brains onto the ceiling

The Penis Is Mightier Than The Sword
There's violence on the television,
And letter bombs in the mail
But things can't be all that bad
'cause Derryn Hinch went to gaol

Famine eats up children,
The peace talks; they always fail
But things can't be all that bad
'cause Derryn Hinch went to gaol

You might have double malaria,
The doctors look at you; they go pale
But things, they can't be all that bad
When Derryn Hinch goes to gaol

Christ himself on the cross
Told the guy who banged in the nail
'Mate, things, they can't be all that bad
When Derryn Hinch goes to gaol'

Don't you know
I can take Ronald Reagen,
I can take Menachem Begin,
I can take tetraplegia,
I can take total amnesia,
I can take black spiky hair,
I can take germ warfare,
I can take 'Chasers' and 'Inflation',
I can take hyperventilation,
I can take total bowel dysfunction,
I can take nuclear destruction,
I can even take Mike Willisee, well, at a pinch
But one thing I cannot take is Derryn ****ing Hinch

My personal favourite Ron Hitler Barassi rant

Morrison Hostel

Jimbo, boy, you're a croc of ****,
You're a boozed, selfish thug;
Why don't you give your mouth a go
And in the other hole put a plug?

By Christ you've got a long long way
On a schoolboy's talent with words -
One c****y bit of symbolism
And you're adored by a army of t**ds.

You're a selfish, rude, arrogant p***k;
You're basically pretty stupid;
Your mysticism's a lump of ****,
And so are all the girls you rooted.

So don't talk about being sad and lonely
Or ****ing misunderstood
Because underneath that self-pitying phoney
Is a brutal, selfish hood.

I support the police that took you off stage,
I support the fact you bled;
I support the cops who carried you off,
I support the fact you're dead.

I think that you're a troubled guy
And I think that's nothing new;
I think your fans are a bunch of turds
Almost as immature as you.

And when I'm in my supermarket
And some prick pushes in front of my trolley
I'll be reminded of your stinking bravado
And I'll ask the **** to say sorry.

You fans would excuse any rudeness
Just because it comes from you -
You'd tell them to go drop dead
And they'd say, "Oh, how true, how true, how TRUE."

You need a nine to five job, Jimbo;
You need to get to Flinders St. by train -
Go and find yourself a regular income,
Then you can write a song about pain.

Try and save for the kids' school fees;
Take some care when you drive a car;
Put your rubbish in a bin
You ****ing great rock super star.

You've spawned a host of ****-sure ****s
Who are nearly always filthy rich,
And think because they're a bit like Jimbo
They can act like stinking pricks:

An army of brainless, arty youth
That look down upon us common plods -
But they barrack for good ol' Jimbo
Like the ****ing Richmond cheer squad.

So when you're listening to Morrison Hotel
And Jimbo's in top form
Whining about this harsh cruel world
And the fact he was ever born

Remember that his fans are rapt
And mourning their suffering lives,
And go down and discuss it at Subterrain -
And least, if Daddy'll drive.

Jimbo, king of the private school kids:
The girls from P.L.C.
Who identify with his tortured soul
Because they've got dropped by friend number three,

Who was Kent from Xavier College -
In H.S.C. he got a "A" for English,
And between Jimbo and William Blake
He hasn't the brains to distinguish.

Jimbo, father of a generation
Of private school depression idols;
From Nick Cave on, they don't kill themselves -
Just tell us why they're suicidal.

He's made self-pity legitimate;
It means we'll have to face
One after another artist with integrity,
Like REO Speedwagon - sorry, I meant Hugo Race.

Well, up your arse Jimbo old man,
Up your ****ing hole:
You're a prick pure and simple -
It's about time you were told;

And up your arse to all your fans;
Up your arse to your tortured, artistic hell;
And while we're ****ing at it,
Up your arse to Morrissey as well;

Up your arse to Robert Smith;
Up your arse to Albert Camus;
All those "I'm suffering for my arty" types,
Jimbo, I blame them all on you.

Anyone who handles life's pain
With a token of mature self examination -
It's time they told these pounces to stick it
Up their bogus self infatuation:

But if you're after true self indulgence
Well, the conclusions still aren't final
'Cos if you thought Jim Morrison was a ****er,
Well, Christ - you've just bought this ****ing bit of vinyl

Next year i will be living in Melbourne, and i hope to make my first ever TISM concert after following them for about 12 years, and not seen one. Knowing my luck, they will call the non Victorian Australian tiour next year, just to p-ss me off.

Considering they're Vics, I doubt it. But you never know with TISM. Keep an eye on their website, they have tour dates on there well before you'd hear anything about it in the street press, and occasionally advertise 'secret' gigs on there when they're due to put out a new album.

yeah, i figured one of those secret gigs would've been @ the tote on wednesday... on their website they said there would be special guests there, and you'd really want to go... wonder what it was like...

AAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHH!!!! And I'm moving back to Melbourne next week so I've missed another secret gig. I don't doubt it would have been good. TISM always go off in concert.
