It’s so weird. Why would you escape a controversial decision where you could have gotten suspended, and then just go ahead and repeat the same thing? Wait till next season at least. What a moron. And he doesn’t need to do this s**t either, such a good player.
Because he quite clearly has an anger management issue. You can see that in the video with Bont, he’s completely out of control for a short period of time.

For the record, I do think Toby does have problems/issues with his anger and needs to spend a lot of the off-season working on it.. Maybe if he missed the Prelim Final and GWS lose will give him time to reflect and try and get some self-awareness that he needs to try and get some more self-control and discipline into his life and game

I certainly don't think he is some kind of remorseless sociopath that many here think, based on my own personal experiences, someone with that amount of anger and prone to incidents of inappropriate behaviour must be deeply unhappy on some level.

And This is why I am not happy with this constant media stitch up of Greene. Yes he needs to change how he plays on field, but all this constant flaming and badgering on the kid isn't going to help him or anyone else
Your defence of him is not unreasonable, surely clubs have people within to deal with these issues, you can’t help anyone unless they want to help themselves, the evidence supports its self at some stage you have to stop making excuses for him.

Appreciate the more measured reply there, Elmer. I don’t think he’s a sociopath but he has not learnt from his actions, maybe because just like in the real court system where repeat offenders seem to get too much lenient sentencing, the imbalance of fining over suspensions has let him off too lightly. Even as a Bulldogs supporter, I’m over the fine for last week ( and I get the angst over the Bont reprieve in Rd 22 even if I disagree) but going back and doing something similar straight away the next week sort of says something about his flawed character that maybe something stronger than a fine might be needed to change. The only thing that still gets me angry is the lack of suspension for his face kick to Dahlhaus - far worse than last week and this - but I’m not wanting that old story to re emerge so please no one respond to that.

I still don’t believe it’s a witch hunt. It’s based on past behaviour. Others may disagree. But one other thing I’d like to end is referring to him as a kid. He turns 26 before the end of the month and played eight years in the AFL! He doesnt qualify for time off for being underage.

I’m genuinely interested in how you arrived at the victim of witch hunt and unfairly treated/misunderstood theory. Is it based on a feeling, real evidence or does getting fined and/or suspended for spitting, throwing player into fence, dropping knee into player on ground, off ball tummy tap, slapping, kicking in face, two 2 week suspensions in 2017 for striking ( on top of 3 other fines that year!) 2 other suspensions for strikings and now consecutive weeks being charged over facial contact just part of the misunderstood art of contact sport? It may well be true that he gets targeted for doing things others do but ignored but with a rap sheet like that I think it’s more fairly questioning his repeated questionable behaviour than unfair witch hunt
Game, set, match on the ‘Toby Greene witch hunt’ game.

No chance he doesn’t challenge it.
Brushing someone’s face is not a suspension no matter what the player has a history of, there was no force or intention.

You can’t just make up rules to give a player a week.
And that's the point.

I'm not saying he hasn't got history.

But to make shit up just to ban someone because of his past is ridiculous.

Evidence of what exactly. Much worse than what we have evidence of him doing is how people lose their critical thinking ability in the mob and continually trot out a lie like “eye gouging” just because, to smear him again and again. And then they have the gall to call him a grub. Wow.

You can argue no force, not sure you can argue no intention. He initiated the action and this time it wasn’t in response to a fierce tackle on his team mate. He jumped into the pack and sought to make contact with Neale. Hard to argue against that. But no force may be a defence. We wait and see.

Look beyond the eye gouging your honour

Nice one Michael Christian, he leant from last week, if he puts it up to the tribuneral the AFL will interfere again and make Gleeson request another fine ... had he not played on the weekend Collingwood would be playing Brisbane next weekend.

What are the AFL doing, encouraging kids in junior leagues to eye gouge just so they can push up their GWS love child? Time to wake up Gil !!!

Saying that this bloke has got issues is an understatement. One week after being let off, the second week in a row and the second final he has played in....he does it again. This is not my opinion this is the finding of the tribunal. If you have any doubts also take a look at the replay after his wrestle with Hodge where Hodge is seen rubbing his eyes after he gets up off the ground. Greene just doesn't seem to have any sense of self. I would hate to see him after a few drinks. GWS needs to stop pretending there isn't a problem.

I myself have not resorted to name calling nor referred to his facial contact actions as eye gouging. That has not helped the discussions. Clean hands evidence reference may have been in response to my post listing Greene’s record of questionable on field actions he’s been fined and suspended for. You may not have read it or chose to ignore it or disagree with it.

Ignoring that long record in club may not have been beneficial in Toby’s long term character development. They do seem to defend his actions a lot. There are several arguments going on in this thread. Should players miss finals for minor acts? Did he eye gouge? Does Greene have a problem? What does contact sport mean? There are more but I don’t think many are being discussed rationally. It’s mostly Trump vs the fake news media level of thought.

Trial by media.

Will see of the Giants fight it.
When the media is video of him doing this dog act, and images of the resulting marks on the face of his target, yes it's trial by media. And he is guilty as sin.

Come on. Be real.
