I said I don’t subscribe to the theory that they are role models. They’re football players, they’re not solving the problems of the world.

However Its the AFL that insist on some aspects of behaviour be upheld. The AFL have changed many things in the game in order to appeal to mothers of young boys, & now girls to convince them the game is safe for their kids to play.

The AFL understand they need to appeal to that more critical element of society in expanding the appeal of the game.

The call that 'its a contact sport' is no longer cutting the mustard.

So we are left with the fact that the AFL pay the bills, so players are expected to abide by the new standards.

I actually hate this sort of rubbish at the tribunal.

So much of it is trying to catch out the player and get them to incriminate themselves with wording on the day. Rather than actually just reviewing the incident.

Neale shouldnt even be there. Other players will always go into bat for another player to get off. It's an unspoken rule you don't sell anyone out.
