Let's agree to disagree.
This country has been infected by yank culture that has no true place in Australian sporting culture.
One of Australia's all time great runners, helped a fallen opponent - Clarke then continued on to win the mile race.

Watch this all of you who consider 1st is all their is and that not taking every advantage is for suckers.

THAT is true sportsmanship in the time honoured Austrailan tradition.

I thought Landy helped the fallen Ron Clarke back to his feet and then Landy continued on to win. There's a statue for this act in Olympic Park area.

Melbourne have delisted Oscar McDonald.
Do we look at him as cheap depth?
Would cost literally nothing in salary and comes as a delisted free agent....
Would cost nothing
Okay depth
Average kick however

But it's too logical so the club won't do it.

Has anyone actually watched Oscar McDonald play? Or they just see that he’s a key position player and instantly assume he is a need? Like every single other dud KPP that becomes available.

Oscar McDonald is absolutely horrible. They gave him plenty of time to develop and played him through bad form, he didn’t get any better, they went in a different direction - May and Lever.

Give me Mark Keane. Someone with some scope.

You keep saying this. I asked you before, where it’s actually been said outside of some randoms on BF, and I never got an answer. Can you tell us where you’ve actually heard this because I’ll be damned if I can find this info, and some pretty prominent draft watchers who have contacts seem to think it’s not such a sure thing...
It has been mentioned on several SA Newspaper websites. Also Nathan O'Driscoll was interviewed recently and let slip (could also be a deliberate slip) to state Crows have indicated they may take him with McDonald. Matt Rendell has also stated Crows should look at Thilthorpe instead of McDonald. All guesswork

How can Crows get Pick 2 as they can't Gurantee O'Driscoll be at there next Pick

I think that was going to be their plan if they got pick 2 for Crouch. Logan at 1 and his mate O’D at 2 to hopefully reduce the chances he’d won’t to go back to WA.

EFA, this competition is ruthless and is nothing like the Olympics in it's competitiveness. The games are all about inclusiveness of your competitors this football competition is about being better than your competitors.

The end game is clearly flags, if you want to correlate that run with how Collingwood should operate then if you were in charge we ain't winning any more flags. I'm beginning to wonder what the end game of this club is.

If it is to be a business first and put it's fingers in other pies to look like a politically correct sporting club then that might explain a lot.

You could always have this teed up (pick 2 trade) as a draft night trade and if Mac goes at 1 Divert to plan B.

I reckon North could be worried about investing in an interstate kid who might be a flight risk after the initial contract; if they have little success. Logan Mac, Thillthorpe, DGB might all be risks. Pick 2 for a combo of first round picks still gives them access to Phillips, Bruhn, Hollands etc. If Logan Mac goes 1 it wouldn’t surprise me if the took Hollands at 2.

I have a feeling that Norf will go for the safe option and take Phillips with 2, I believe Hollands is the best player in this draft but he comes with a knee issue so Norf wouldn't risk that. Mcdonald will go to Adelaide and Norf probably won't risk Thilthorpe either. We could get Thilthorpe with or 4 maybe, even DGB

Agree. I don’t rate Oscar Mac at all. It’s a hard pass from me. I’d also prefer Keane too and that’s saying a lot as he looked like a deer in the headlights in his debut game.

As a club we're going to be reeking of desperation to put some gloss on an ugly few weeks and there's going to be the temptation there to play hard ball with us again, so it'll be interesting to see how it unfolds.

It's been made very clear that the plan is to trade ourselves into the top 5. My bet is a few jobs may hinge on that result coming to fruition.

I dare say that our future first could be tantalising, given the doom and gloom surrounding 2021.

Let's say, for argument's sake, we finish 8th next year. This is what a Collingwood package looks like:

Collingwood trades: Pick 14, 16 & (2021) 11
Sydney trades: Pick 3

And just for argument's sake, let's see what got a proven commodity and the best FA available in the comp done:

Geelong trades: Pick 13, 15 and 20
GWS trades: Jeremy Cameron, two 2021 2nd round picks

I think the North Melbourne 2nd rounder (looking as low as 19-20 while they're in disarray) will work along with our own 2nd rounder to get Nick Daicos done and by the summer of 2021, Ned Guy, assuming he's still employed and not managing 2nd grade basketballers in Lithuania, will be able to say that we've been able to clear the books while bringing in two kids of top 5 value (Daicos and this year's kid) and another first rounder in Reef.
Imagine using 3 first rounders on one untried player, this would be dumber than 2 first for beams or adz

Why did you tell him, he was having kittens trying to find it

So if this talk of trading up the draft to get a top 5 pick is true, which would have to involve our two first round picks from this year and one from 2021, does that mean we are passing on Reef McInnes? Or would we have enough with later picks because I doubt we want to go into deficit in 2021. Apologies if this has already been asked.

No we go into point deficit. If we don't have enough points from this year's draft, it just means our earliest pick next year will be discounted.

But in your scenario they pick that will be moved back will be our 2021 2nd anyways, so not a big loss.

Except we still get three first round players
Potentially two number one picks

It'd be like bringing back Jack Frost. I trier who has the strength and athleticism but no skills or game IQ. I'd prefer to back in Keane.
