Is it the fact that he isn't Victorian or the fact that he hasn't won a flag the reason people don't respect boak like they respect Pendles?

Not too different over their career.

I think youll find anybody who plays for a big vic club will always get more recognition than someone at a small or non vic team.
Its not really a secret. Easy example is compare Sheezel or Gulden to Daicos, both Sheez and Gulden are arguably better or similarly good players to Daicos, but the pies player gets the circlejerk

People respect Boak, but Pendles has played in 4 Grand finals + the replay. Port have usually struggled in finals, makes a difference if Boak had won a couple of flags.

Gulden is talked about quite highly, especially after the final last year. Sheezel may well end up as good as Daicos, but right now he's pretty much playing in irrelevent games as Norths season is over very early. Daicos has been best on in lots of big wins for Collingwood, North just aren't competetive at this stage. Even watching today's game, the entire 2nd half was just junk time, its hard to watch.

Gulden doesnt get talked about nearly as much as Daicos does, he still obviously gets talked about as hes one of the best young players in the comp. Cal Twomey wrote a flipping article on afl.com ranking Daicos' best 49 games lmao its glaringly obvious.

Doesnt change the fact that the vic media prefers to talk about anything to do with the big vic clubs over any other club. Pendlebury definitely hasnt earned the extra attention he has received over other long time very good players and leaders.

Sheezel and Gulden are better than Daicos so far this year

Boak s a gun. Love him as a footballer and a bloke. In and under, be great to play alongside. Tough and hard. Great in the clinches.

Am guilty of questioning his finishing skills at times. Not sure if warranted as I don't watch every Port game.

Still legend of the game. Gun.

This true. I think Pendlebury is a better player too. I've been more critical of Boak than just about any Port supporter. I just think he's unreliable in the big moments. He never drags us across the line in big games. He has often missed important goals which would have made a difference between winning and losing. He just isn't clutch and he in my mind is synonymous with the Hinkley era Port Adelaide. He's a very good player, but he isn't an out and out champion for the above reasons.

Boak a great player & longevity but finals have to be the knock on him, you just can't blame him but at no stage did he ever carry he's team to victory in the finals.

They seemed to have lost a lot of important finals on their terms at Adelaide Oval.

Gulden is actually one of the most popular and highest rated players in the league. Ask the journalists, fans, umpires and coaches.

I know, but thats not the point. He doesnt get the recognition or respect that Daicos does despite being probably a better player, simply because he doesnt play for a big club in vic.
Everybody knows he is great but there is more to it
