We may have not got the win, but with the way we played tonight I am certain we will play finals. I didnt' get into the match till quarter time as I had to come stright from an arse whooping in Pascoe Vale and then the lines were ridiculous, but the last 3 quarters were outstanding.

It is disappointing to only get a draw, because with our percentage it is like a loss. But the fact is Essendon have lost at Colonial twice ever, drawing with them is an outstanding effort.
Luke Darcy was brilliant, showing again that he is the leagues best bigman.
Johnson was typically great and Bandy was exceptional, he took 16 marks.
McGuiness showed a lot with 3 goals and across the board I struggled to find a poor player. I also thought Matthew Croft in the last quarter was absolutely terrific, as was Scotty West throughout the match.

If we keep playing like that we will pound Hawthorn and in my opinion we are capable of ruffling a few feathers come finals time. And 2003-2004 we will be a terrific side, our future is rosy

I thinks this is the key.

There was a passage in the last quarter that went something along the lines of....Hargraves to Giansiracusa to Alvey and ended up with McGuinness. (Working from memory here, may be slightly wrong!)

I remember thinking at the time that it was the best future in the comp.

Shivers down the spine stuff:)

Mcmahon was the one who passed to Mcguiness. That sort of passage happened about 5 times.

While we are on this topic. Does anyone else get the feeling that the younger guys would rather hand it off to each other than kick it to one of the older guys? Maybe its just the amount of young guys in the team but the ball seems to pass between them a lot.

I don't think Terry Wallace will be emulating the younger guys to have more of the ball than our seniour players. But I think the Pups are learning from our seniour players, and may want to dish the ball off to one another every now and then. I don't think the older guys seem to care, as our list of youngsters will be the future of the club. The youngsters may tend to feed the ball off to eachother as they know what the are going through (learning the game more) and believe the other pups feel the same about them, so together they win! :)

McMahon definitely looked for mcguiness a lot (maybe it's a macca thing). It's natural they pass to each other, they have played together for werribee.

Imagine...ten years of watching robert murphy...yes the future is bright...we played so well without dominating performances from grant, west or even johnson...that would have meant a 50 point thumping last year.

Shivers down the spine all right!!
