No, they're not making another Jamie Lee Curtis movie (at least not yet!) This post is about trick or treating. Is anyone going trick or treating tonight? Has anyone been already and is back home, counting their 'loot'?

Or maybe you're like me - you get little kids coming to the door wanting treats. My folks don't believe in Halloween (thinks it's too American), they always sends them on their way. Or sometimes they just refuses to answer the door! I never went Trick or Treating (Teating) when I was a kid because our street was full of senile old people who hardly knew when it was Christmas. I've noticed over the past few years more kids have been coming for some candy - changing culture or more kids in the neighbourhood?

Why is this ****ty piece of American culture brought over here every year?

I always tell the kids to get ****ed.

Make sure you have a gun by the door to shoot any of them if they decide to throw eggs at your house after a rejection. Me well i have a outer gate that needs to be accessed to be able to get to my front door, so i think i shall be locking that.

No-one's come to my place, thank goodness.

Easy for me to say, not having any kids, but what sort of parent would let their kids go round knocking on the doors of complete strangers asking for lollies? Without wanting to sound over-protective, it's a frightening thought.

I had kids come to my place tonight "Trick or Treating" in their school uniforms with plastic Safeways bags. At first I didn't know what they were on about, then I promptly informed them to go forth and multiply. They could have at least made an effort and dress up, even the old white bed sheet with eye holes cut out would suffice. Doesn't matter though, they still would have got bugger all from my place.

Stupid American CRAP

When some brat knocks on your door tell em to **** off to America if they want a treat

:D :D

Ask the little brats if they even know what halloween is all about.
I saw 2 rugrats going from door-to-door in my street tonight, but I'd gone out by the time they would've reached my joint.

Last year I had half-dozen or so rugrats rock up,but told them I ain't a Yank so bugger off.

Have had no kids around again this year, guess me having Kenny chained on the front verandah the last two years has worked, he was inside tonight, but still no kids, guess they didn't want to take the chance. :D

Aww poor Kenny, you put him inside and he missed out doing his
trick and getting his treat.:D

trick or treating is huge in amsterdam!! there are kids everywhere and a lot of them have gone to great lengths to dress up as the grim reaper or dracula or whoever... but they wont be giving us any problems...

we are on the 3rd floor and you need to buzz your way up :D

back in sydney though, the local shops at Newport have gone and organised this huge trick or treating effort with all this advertising and everything. I can imagine the mayhem.. as if the juvenile delinquents arent bad enough without having an excuse to run riot. the place will be a mess.

kids? haha last night I saw ****ing 17 year olds doing it  dressed in Pj pants short tops and butterfly wings.... so very pathetic :D

I'm echoing most of the points contained in this thread.

Parents can buy their kids their own lollies, and what sort of parent lets kids wander the streets at night soliciting lollies? Madness. Not to mention the fact that it is teaching kids extortion and bullying ("give me lollies or I'll egg your house"). No thanks.
