Apologies for starting the Troy Menzel dream-a-thon again, but...

Seeing a fair bit of "Menzel is disgruntled" chat in the thread about Carlton's list on the MB.

http://www.bigfooty.com/forum/threads/carltons-list.1067670/page-13

Are we any chance if he goes? Obviously the club has been very, very patient with his brother, can only imagine he would have nothing but good things to say to Troy about Geelong.

Probably vital we start to look at these kind of blokes that have the capability to become legitimate stars of the competition as more and more of our "golden era" head into retirement...

I gather a rumour he is unhappy with the possible non-selflessness of his teammates, together with an article speculating on Geelong being interested because of Dan, and his manager saying he will chat with Carlton "later in the year" when they thought a contract extension was already sorted has some a little edgy it seems.

He would have to be miserable to ever wind up elsewhere because Carlton will be gripping tight to one of their few shining lights.

Menzel will go nowhere.
They've found one there.
You speak to Blues supporters and they are totally infatuated with Troy, and for good reason. He looks like a seasoned player. The place would burn down if Carlton let him go.

They would play hardball big time but if he is OOC and they were reasonable ( yeah right) it would be worth it. ….

A high second or a late first…

You gotta be serious Daz, he was pick 11. Agree with MotleyLemon would it would take a decent pick/s.
pick 11 … ok..

Id give pick 15…

that is fair is it not?

He has not really done that much and got 2 touches last night…

2…

Go Catters

Carlton might be in need of a tall forward to replace Waite, and they aren't getting much out of their current crop - maybe look at trading Brown & Schroder (depending on his opportunities the 2nd half of the year he might want out) for Menz Jnr or a combo of player/s & a pick/s.

Brown and Schroder won't get Menzel.
Brown and a high pick probably would.

Carlton would play hardball, not unless he is out of contract and wants to leave. Then they can have Stringer and Sheringham for him.

:)

If I was Carlton I'd be all over Schroder, better than any of their young midfielders and at least has some fight in him.

Yeah lets try and trade players ranked 30+ on our list for a young gun, hey maybe we can even get away with trading a few...
Vealesy, if you are concerned about these sorts of posts you will go insane come October.

If we are going to give up our first round draft pick this year it cant be for a forward flanker, it has to be for a clearance player like Josh Kennedy, Tom Mitchell, Dylan Shiel, Jesse Lonergan, Dustin Martin etc. Must be our first priority.

Well, they did take David Clarke off our hands, and gave us the draft pick we used to pick up Chappy for Micky Mansfield, so it is worth a shot. ;)

He is almost the go to guy already.

Looking a lot like Dan was in late 2011.

IF I were Carlton , Id being playing very hard ball with us , they know we have his brother. And they would need a deal that would eleviate the embarrassment of losing him. Our R1 plus good expendable player like Brown ...if that was the deal . YES. He would be such an addition to our forwardline , just what we need

But its all hogwash till I here him say he wants to do a Caddy.

It would take someone like Caddy. No less.
