Basements and Attics. Always loved these from American house plans. Australian house design is just about worst in world. Culturally our two biggest influences are the UK and US, both of which have lots of great houses (of different styles), yet most Australian houses are rectangular boxes with all the appeal of another 5 years of Ken coaching.
Every UK house I see is a ****in shoebox

Even the Hyacinth houses

Yea gotta say aside from upper class to stonking rich areas, houses in the UK & US for the everyman are fukcing eyesores compared to Australia.

*Basements are groovy though.

And they don't appear to have big sheds. Jimbo would be have to be a contortionist to have a wank in there.

Basements make so much sense in such a hot climate too lmao

The house I grew up in had a cellar with a long corridor and three separate rooms.

I didn’t appreciate the awesomeness of it at the time.

Definitely, especially as in the UK most don’t have driveways either. Which in the era of the 3 car household causes chaos on the street parking.

The terrace housing would send ya batty I reckon.
I’ve just came back from there. At the terraces I could barely drive up the street cars either side in what are already long and narrow streets.

Quick, before the fence is up
