Out of my way puny small kids. The last little tacker wasn't even trying to tackle him and he was still destroyed.

Victoria banning gas in new homes lmao
Already banned in ACT, and will be cut off completely by 2035. Meanwhile, if you have a wood fire, go nuts

So instead of our gas hot water system we can have an electric heat pump one, which costs more to purchase and run and doesn't work when it's cold. Which of course it never is in Canberra ...

Oh and our recycling plant burnt down recently as is the trend. So now all of our recycling is trucked to Sydney (couldn't possibly use a train...) and thrown away there.

TL;DR please don't ever consider voting Green, no matter how enticing it might seem.

Does Canberra have any redeeming features? I thought the War Memorial was cool when I was a kid.... but after that...

It is cool, and is currently having half a billion spent on it, so I'd guess it will end up cooler.

Traffic is not yet at an unmanageable level, there is still plenty of open space, the air is clean and there are few "slums". If you're not one to get sick, don't need to go to school or rent/buy a home it's fine.

Canberra was the home of pr0n in the days of VHS video - capitalising on S92 of the Constitution forbidding restriction on trade between the states. Meaning mainstream pr0n videos from a territory where they were legal (ACT) could be went via post or courier to anywhere in Australia - despite every state at that time having anti pr0n laws of some sort.

I think the arrival of the WWW may have killed that lucrative business avenue off along with most other aspects of the pr0n industry.

My understanding of this is specifically from a legal stand point btw. 👨‍🎓

That just shows ya how long it's been since I've been to the ACT

I'm afraid to ask... What's a chocolate milk swilling cult?
Was thinking this. But happy to admit I could be wrong.
