I don't get to a lot of footy games, but I was lucky to be at Chad Wingard's MOTY game. It was incredible. What an experience.

Now imagine if I just happened to be randomly filming at the time. My hands around a phone, looking through a screen. Then it happens, the crowd goes wild, and I can't see s**t, and the video is wrecked. Would I go back and live it through that recording more than I watch the broadcast quality highlight?

So, I can say with no hesitation, it was far better to be enjoying the footy for real, with my eyes, and ears, and my hands free, and to be able to share that with people around me doing the same, hugging and high fiving strangers and just being ecstatic with everyone else, and not making the moment about me.

I've got some clips from gigs (30s or so not the whole song) and occasionally I'll be scrolling through shit and play them. Takes me back there. I get the "being in the moment" thing, but also I can't remember shit about some guy I went to 10-15 years ago.
Watching a clip is a good memory trigger to be like ah yeah I remember I was standing there near the stage and they played this and blah blah.

i think if something is special enough you remember it forever and have your own photographs snapped in your mind, like the 2004 grand final. if you have a camera phone ready to go the whole game, half your mind is on the game and the experience but the other half is dedicated to "oh shit this could be a hype moment better record it!" "oh shit this could be a hype moment better record it!" "oh shit this could be a hype moment better record it!" then what do you do, spend a couple hours that night going through the footage?

Do these people think watching a gig back on a screen is better than the experience of being at the gig? If so why go in the first place?

Isn't this because the pitch has been prepared to mess specifically with left handers?
Such a hinkley move. "They have a good tall defender that we rate more than our forward. Lets drop the forward and play jed mac and cheese."

That's right, anybody who questions the ultra negative, moronic, hypocritical anti establishment commentary on this board is just a troll.

Obviously the employed posters wouldn't carry on like this in normal life otherwise they wouldn't have a job.

Some posters exclusively engage in the most appalling slander of players, coaches, staff, their families and pretty much everything else but somehow those same posters manage to convince themselves that they are the pillar of society by simply accusing others without basis of being racists and worse.

What an extraordinary cesspool of content the entire board is.

I don’t usually get involved in S**t fights here, but I have to say that if this is what you really think of this board and it’s posters, I can’t for the life of me figure out what you’re still doing here. The easiest solution for us all is if you just go away.

Must say it gets quite interesting now I don't post as much and pop back in every so often to see what's happening. Always something new and exciting happening here.

If you've lived the moment, you don't need to remember it.

So I guess no one should ever take photos of anything ever, gotcha.

I'm not a fan of people staring at their screens the whole time recording shit, but taking a photo of a once in a lifetime moment isn't gonna ruin it someone.

You think that Nike guy had a better experience than everyone else? He's probably just too old to operate a smart phone.
