Question: (i keep using papley as an example haha) If papley plays Friday night, can I bring him in on Saturday morning with an exchange with FA list? Avoiding the waiver period. Or does the FA exchange lock-out at 7pm Friday and re-open at 9pm Sunday? Which is where restricted FA comes into play?

Completely makes sense re:nba, afl definitely doesn't have enough turnover in teamsheets week in week out. Avg of maybe 3 player changes per club across the league each week.

Looking fwd to others opinions on this as I'm a newbie to the UF world so don't really wanna rely on my say haha

Once a player plays they are locked into being a restricted f.a. You can put in a claim for them but the claim won't be processed until after the round is finished and the 48hr waiver period finishes.

it all depends on what rules the league is set up with. This is how the other Dynasty League is set for example.



My memory is hazy, but using the above as an example..

As everybody becomes a restricted FA after the lockout, in your example you would need to have Papley selected sometime after the restriction ends, from memory usually a Wednesday (3 days after the weekend lockout) and before the Friday game, so say the Thursday. If you tried to select Papley on a Saturday he would already be a restricted FA, and therefore not available to 'first in', but available to whoever the lowest ladder position bidder was over the time period stretching from the add/drop lockout (friday) to the end of the restricted FA period (wednesday).

I hope that makes sense.. As I said above though, it all depends on what we as a collective and deeman87 decide to go with

What do you mean create a group? The draft won't quite be random, I'll be the GWS of the league and gift myself 7 of the first 10 picks, then it's me again every 3rd pick til my team is full. I kid of course, the draft order will be randomized by a 3rd party using a random number generator and it will be a snake draft to try and make it as fair as possible. So yes like the order you posted.

Alright I'm calling this league the Paul Roos cup in honour of one of AFL's all time greats. The work he did in turning round the fortune of two of the AFL's oldest clubs was stellar and he made footy fun for me again, this league probably wouldn't be getting started if it weren't for Roosy.

Im not sure how much longer the Age will be supporting UF in the future - doesnt look like much of a priority for them.

I tried to login but it stays in a perpetual loading screen...not sure it is up at 100% yet.

League has been created. There currently isn't the option to set it as a keeper league, well the option is there but the link doesn't work. So I'll be waiting til they've ironed out the kinks before sending invites. Draft currently set to start in a week.
