Trump heading for a win shows what we are in for next election.
Far right Dutton will win in a landslide with Albo seemingly not up for it.

The political left and right are becoming the extreme left and right.
Hence the actions of their died in the wool supporters.

Both are as insane as the other.

This rhetoric is exactly what is killing democracy - to say the left has become as extreme as the right is disingenuous at best and dangerous at worst.

The major parties really aren't extreme left by any means.

Socially they're about as far left as SSM being legalised, and they're not economically left at all. Policies from the 50s and 60s would seem socialist compared to the left today.
Defend your party but the gaps between the two are bigger than ever and just as extreme.

A lot of exit polls are showing minorities and women voting more for Trump. (increased his numbers not total votes)

I think whichever way it goes it's a clear misstep by the Democrats to label anyone not voting for them 'garbage' and deplorables. Many republican's including Vivek have come out said the difference is we will help you even if you don't vote for us.
Democrats are just too out of touch with the 'average' American, as evidenced by the current results coming in.

They need to take a long, hard look at themselves before the next election.

People are losing their minds a bit early, there's still a fair way to go.
Losing my mind it’s even a close race, how people would want Trump in again just baffles me to no end. That country is ****ed.

As much as I dislike Trump, Democrats haven't exactly done a stellar job running the country for the past 4 years, which is why people negatively affected by the state of the economy are voting for him.

Not saying he'll be any better, but it's why swing voters will vote for him.
Bingo again, you're on a hot streak!

Because they have?

The left used to stand for tolerance and inclusion of everybody, now you just get labeled a bigot and a Nazi if you even dare question immigration policies, just for starters.

People are sick of it.

We need the rock to put his hat in the ring so he he can layeth the smack down and rock bottom trump

Pretty sure The Rock is a Republican, he just doesn't announce his allegiances publically

What's 'my' party?

The gaps between the two are bigger because the GOP has lurched very far to the right.

Compared to Australian politics, the Democrats are more right than the LNP for the most part.

That is such a dumb take its not funny.

If more then 5 progressives give up abortion rights and a chance to end the gaza war because dick cheneys daughter said we shouldnt vote for trump cos he is a dictator then progressives deserve trump.

It isn't 2004 anymore. It was the moment she started to lose momentum. Yes they shouldn't matter because of the alternative but here we are..

I wouldn't say out of touch, more that they are pretty tired of the status quo and willing to give outsiders (like Trump) a shot.

There is a perception - rightly or wrongly, supported by evidence or not - that times are tough, all politicians are crooked, all media are biased, and something needs to change.

The concept of tolerance from both sides has dissipated at an alarming rate.

I think its over.
I know Biden was looking bad on the night too, but he was always going to win big in the postals. This is not the case this time around; what you see is mostly what you are gonna get.

I believe it was Kamala who said she’ll be a President for everyone. Trump is just out to get any one who didn’t kowtow to him. Full of fire and brimstone to any non MAGA supporter.
