So if the tariffs go ahead, you would expect many of these items will be sourced from other countries without tariffs.

been a long time since I did any economics, big surely there’s a variety of outcomes and it’s not just as simple as the tariff being added to current price and passed on in full to the consumer with no change to their behaviour.

Reality I reckon that Trump uses the threat of tariffs almost entirely as a bargaining position. He hadn’t an ounce of diplomacy and sees everything as an opportunity for a negotiation ‘win’ and opportunity to grandstand.

Trump's attack on Denmark i think is destined to end in tears for Trump and his administration.

He threatened war! Let's make it clear he told the Denmark Prime Minister that Denmark either sell him Greenland cheap or the USA will take it by force.

Basically under every allied deal, the USA would end up starting world war 3 and they would have no Alliance to help them. I don't think congress will allow Trump to spend trillions of dollars on his ego when he was supposed to fix the economy and immigration. Not to mention lose every Allie the USA has.
