Why are you worried about AI (it's going to **** us) when you look at a country like RomaniaWhile social media is absolutely to blame for the state of pretty much everything, those who control it have clearly seen a way to manipulate and mislead. The onus has to be on us for doing our own fact checking surely? My biggest concern now is the rise and use of AI within the political sphere.
Romania you say, wtf is going on there?
They recently cancelled the results on their presidential elections when it became clear there was interference. Turns out it was from russia and china
Tik Tok alone had 66K (yes, 66,000) new accounts promoting a pro-russian candidate no one had heard of 6 months previously pumping mis-information into the electorate
Investigations discovered that about 1200 of those accounts had been generated prior to Tik Tok going live
ie: china gave russia 1200 accounts to play with before the platform was "open to the public"

Romania - FMD - and that's only Tik Tok
During Malcolm Turnbull's brief stint as PM he warned us of war in "the grey zone" and foreign interference
Anyone wonder why we have so many cookers now?
