RFK’s point about vaccines is there there is zero financial incentive for pharmaceutical companies to care about product safety.

This is undeniably true.

If a vaccine is on the childhood schedule you can’t sue them. They have total immunity. Like they did during Covid.

It would be like a vehicle manufacturer knowing a certain percentage of their vehicles had exploding airbags that were going to injure or kill people.

Now imagine if absolutely no action could be taken against them, and they did not suffer financially in any way.

That’s the vaccine industry.

Megyn Kelly nails it

Megyn Kelly categorically describes the lawfare against Trump as the Rubicon that the Democrats crossed:"The lawfare in general was the biggest turning point. The lawfare was a catastrophic mistake by the Democrats. Trying to criminalize a political battle, trying to go after one's political opponent with criminal charges. And on top of that, civil cases that could ruin a man trying to put him in jail was a bridge too far.The electorate rejected it out of hand as too much.It made the Democrats look radical. It made the Democrats look like they were the ones who were anti-democratic. It undermined their core argument against Trump On January 6th. They shot themselves in the foot. It was a before and after moment that we now cannot get back. Now we've crossed the Rubicon and anything's possible. If Adam Schiff or Hillary Clinton or Joe Biden winds up facing criminal charges under a Trump administration, I can tell you there are very few Republican voters who will feel sorry for them. They brought it upon themselves. We had never done this before. We made it almost 250 years without doing this to a president. And let me tell you, it wasn't because no president had ever come close to the legal line. We understood as a nation we didn't want to start turning ourselves into a banana republic. And I don't know where this goes from here, but whatever happens, it's their fault."Democrats trained all their guns on Trump, turned those guns around to point at themselves, and yelled 'FIRE'!

These are the sorts of abject atrocities you supported over the last four years.

More lies. Haha. Awesome stuff Pietro.

And when exactly did I support this?

My contribution to this discussion has been to point out:
  • the hypocrisy of the Trump administration and its supporters on immigration and the misrepresentation of data to suit the narrative,
  • that the performative cruelty to non-white immigrants and other minority groups is just a tool to distract people from growing economic inequality and other macroeconomic issues which I guarantee Trump has zero intent of fixing (and will no doubt make worse during his term),
  • and that gullible idiots like you gobble this up.
For the record, I'm supportive of Australia's bipartisan commitment to maintaining strong borders, a fair process for people to migrate into the country who will add value to our society and our economy (as successive waves of immigrants before them have done), and our obligation to accept refugees. I'm not supportive of where this has descended into cruelty and probable human rights violations. Not my country, but I'd say the same about the US.

It is both amusing and vomit worthy that you are trying to paint the felon as having an ounce of sincere compassion.

Anything for a political stunt hey.
If only he had the same personal reaction to the Uvalde schoolchildren deaths. Instead he said the parents need to get over it.

Perhaps think long and hard about why that is?

Edit
on another matter - chaos already with the spending freeze, court injunction and rescission. Then the newbie Press Secretary completely buggers up communication leading to court restraining order. Just completely amateur and chaotic and frankly embarrassing. Only 3.95 years to go

Out of all his hand picked appointees this freak would have to be the worst. Even Trump thought he was absolutely useless a few short months ago but like anything with Orange man everything can and will change for a price. Surely the most unethical politician in US history

And this if from Murdoch

Mr Kennedy’s critics argue he is dangerously unqualified, citing his promotion of debunked claims linking childhood vaccines to autism, his suggestion that HIV does not cause AIDS, and accusations that he fuelled anti-measles vaccine sentiment in Samoa during a 2019 visit, months before a deadly outbreak.

His cousin Caroline Kennedy, a former US Ambassador to Australia and Japan and the daughter of President John F. Kennedy, earlier blasted RFK in a scathing letter as a “predator”, saying he was unqualified to oversee the US health bureau. She was later backed by her cousin Maria Shriver, who praised Caroline Kennedy’s “courage” for speaking out.

Going back only a few short months. All such a joke. When you have no ethics or guiding principles in life this sort of shit happens.

Mr. Kennedy had spent the better part of a decade lobbing attacks at Mr. Trump, portraying him as a buffoonish, anti-democratic bully who led a feckless administration.

“In many ways, he’s discredited the American experiment with self-governance,” Mr. Kennedy said of Mr. Trump in early 2020.

Mr. Kennedy set aside his criticisms when he suspended his long-shot independent presidential campaign last Friday, saying that he was backing Mr. Trump because he was “choosing to believe” that “this time” Mr. Trump would bring him into his administration

CNN —
Robert F. Kennedy Jr., President-elect Donald Trump’s pick for secretary of Health and Human Services, has a long history of scathing critiques against Trump, labeling him a “threat to democracy,” a “bully,” and, as recently as July, a “terrible president.”

LOL

DeepSeek: AI app has plenty to say about Australia’s leaders but not so much about China

China’s AI app DeepSeek has plenty to say about Australia and our leaders. But, when it comes to its country of origin it draws a blank.

China’s answer to ChatGPT has plenty to say about Australia – labelling its human rights record a “mixed picture”.
But it draws blanks when asked about the Tiananmen Square massacre in 1989, it’s leader Xi Jinping, the Cultural Revolution or China’s own record on human rights, The Australian reports after conducting its own test on the newly released AI app.

DeepSeek provided largely balanced answers to user questions but, for those seeking answers on China, the app’s flaws were on full display.

While it provided answers on the leadership of Donald Trump, Anthony Albanese and Peter Dutton, Xi Jinping was a no-go zone.

“Sorry that’s beyond my current scope. Let’s talk about something else,” DeepSeek replied.

When asked what was 1989’s Tiananmen Square massacre, it provided the same response, presenting a pro-China bias.

hahahah...lol. The Bee nails it EVERY...SINGLE...TIME

Even funnier. She walked straight into it.

NEW: Elizabeth Warren accidentally makes RFK Jr. look GREAT with the perfect softball

question.
WARREN: “You’re not going to take money from drug companies in any way, shape, or form?”

KENNEDY: “Who, me?”

WARREN: “Yes, you.”

KENNEDY: “Oh, yeah. I’m happy to commit to that.“I don’t think any of them want to give me money, by the way.”
:D:D:D

If he had time perhaps, he could have followed up and asked Pocahontas if she commits to the same. :D

Unsurprising and infuriating. What do you think about Trump's Truth Social or whatever it's called, and Elon's X?

More lies. Haha. Awesome stuff Pietro.

And when exactly did I support this?

This post during the height of the Biden Administration sounds an awful lot like “nothing to see here”.

Laken Riley died a few months after you made this post.

Perhaps you would’ve taken it more seriously then, instead of running cover for the most despicable and evil immigration policy in history?

Not refuting the statistics and that there has been a big spike in illegal immigration into the US, but is the suggestion here that the political persuasion of the sitting US government of the day is the only or primary driver of people wanting to attempt an illegal border crossing?

I'm not an expert on this but like so many political and economic issues, surely it's more complex than that.

For all his tough talk on migration, the current increasing trend for illegal border crossings actually started during the Trump presidency (2017-2021), dipped during COVID while border closures were in place, then escalated significantly again under Biden (2021-).
This reversed a 15 year declining trend under the Clinton (1993-2001), Bush (2001-2009) and Obama (2009-2017) presidencies.

All of these administrations (be they Democrat or Republican) have had different approaches for how they dealt with illegal immigrants once they found them, none of which seem to have meaningfully moved the dial up or down on numbers of people trying to migrate to the US in the first place.

I would have thought that broader regional or global political, economic and social instability would be a bigger influence on the latter, no?

Moving on.

You then endorsed this post by Mr Moogle, who certainly rates an honourable mention alongside you, adelaidecrows, Kirky and OGC, in his penchant for embarrassingly wrong prognostications about US politics.

The last midterms showed that focusing too much on fear based immigration politics was a failing strategy. There is a segment of the right that keeps saying illegal immigration will be the focal point of the next election but they say this every election.

That footage shows the helicopter heading straight into the aircraft. WTF? Such a terrible tragedy.

Compare the Pear.

The first one intelligent and giving facts, the second one a hopeless liar.
Imagine being so absolutely dumb as to think being blonde ( and of course white) gives you some sort of credibility. Her lies have been caught out several times already and she has only been in the job for a few days.

Good job Trump. The numbers of such incidents will only increase now

Seriously are you really that stupid to put this down to Trump who has hardly had his feet under the desk at this point..
