News VFLW 2019 Fixture

No matches at Oakleigh in 2019, however we travel to Morwell twice. Two double headers with our VFL team including one at Victoria Park, which this year doesn't clash with the AFL. We also play an "Invitational" match against GWS, basically a glorified practice match for the giants and worth no premiership points. Richmond, Williamstown, Melbourne Uni and Essendon cop the same practice match during one of their byes.

The finals series has been extended from top 4 to top 6.

What a shame some of the games against AFL linked teams can't be played as early games on the day we meet them - Carl, Rich, Melb, Ess, Haw, WB. etc.

Or VFL linked teams?

IMHO VFL tends to have a more wholesome community feel to it compared to AFL, and that might make VFL a better coupling for VFLW.

Anyone know why NT Thunder is classified as a VFLW club given its not victorian?
The NT Thunder men play in the NEAFL comp, maybe there isn’t a women’s NEAFL comp yet?
Don't think there's a NEAFL side yet hence why a couple of other sides and us are also playing invitational games against GWS. In terms of NT Thunder, they act as Adelaide's reserves, but I was surprised at their inclusion last year.
