I am having trouble finding any information on the Victorian Football Union, which I am pretty sure was superceded by the Victorian Metropolitan Football League in 1981. It is unusual to have such little information available given that the body was in existence for over 50 years. All I have is a photocopy of the 1960 list of clubs issued by the VCFL which included lists of the metropolitan clubs and leagues as well.

I was wondering if anyone has seen any VFU documentation, booklets, annual reports or any other information from over the years.

All I can find out is in the 1950s, the VFL and VFA went halves on the secretary's remuneration.

My take on the article, the VFU is an umbrella organisation of suburban leagues.

VCFL oversee all victorian country leagues
VMFL oversee all metropolitan leagues

Kind of like AFL Barwon that oversee Geelong FL, Bellarine FL and Colac DFL.
